I wonder how the US model would work regarding making countries "states", and the city-states in these countries "counties".

Pretty much, because if Biafra happens the religious population will go from an almost 50% Muslim and 50% Christian to 70/30 Muslim and Christian.

Boko Haram is a recent movement which mostly targets other Muslims. The Biafra war was in the 60's and had little to do with religion. Most Yoruba (who were allied with the Hausa) are not even Muslim.

Boko Haram mostly targets other Muslims due to the nature of human geography in Borno State/Lake Chad region but they especially for after Christians. The Chibok Girls were Christians before they were kidnapped. Chibok was a Christian village.

We don't wish to live with Boko Haram. This whole thing started because Nigeria enacted Sharia law in 2000. Muslim leaders in the North strengthened radicals for cheap political gains.

Half of all African-Americans probably have Igbo ancestry. Many people in Jamaica, Haiti, Barbados, Antigua and Trinidad have Igbo ancestry

It's religious in the sense that Northerners are trying to Islamisize Nigeria incrementally. They're throwing away Nigeria's secular nature for political gains. Igbos have been targeted by religious extremists because we are non-Muslims.
