Edwin Clark also said this.

You can’t separate by force - Ijaw leader has strong words for Biafra agitators

"On the issue of Biafra, he said those agitating today weren’t born in 1967 when the civil war took place.
.

As to this statement reminds me of sanusi article " yoruba are then problems with Nigeria"
(Not that I share that sentiment as I don't denigrate a whole tribe. I'll rather say it's a fraction but including their leaderships.)
However the statement is in bold below

There is a new Igbo man, who was not born in 1966 and neither knows nor cares about Nzeogwu and Ojukwu. There are Igbo men on the street who were never Biafrans. They were born Nigerians, are Nigerians, but suffer because of actions of earlier generations. They will soon decide that it is better to fight their own war, and may be find an honourable peace, than to remain in this contemptible state in perpetuity.

Yorubas Are The Problem With Nigeria – By Lamido Sanusi

My hope is simply to shake hands...go our separate ways and work for the benefit of one's region and compete fairly

All the problems Igbo people are facing will be multiplied by tenfold if Biafra comes into existence. We need to dead these so called tribal secessionist movements in Africa.

:mjlol: So why are you quoting it ? This is straight off the stuff I see on nairaland. Lol

you say that yoruba and fulani are allies, but here you quote an article of a fulanis dislike of the yorubas.

It's as if you forgot the narrative that Yorubas and Fulanis are together.

Who asked for a war?
This shows the level of intelligence in the Nigeria political leadership. This is where we put things to a vote. Make a decision and create a framework to move on after the decision is done

We have only had threats anytime we say we want to leave or at least vote on it like Scotland did like the UK. The only threats is loss of businesses and properties earned overtime. This shows the worthlessness of your side and your inability to actually compete or debate publicly about what is the right step to take.

But again since you guys have been in charge, what accomplishments have you done?

Lol I don't know why you would apply European logic to african countries.

Africans war over land, oil lgas, all the time in nigeria and you think there will be peaceful dissolution of the Niger delta. Lol

Hence i stated the following earlier in the thread and please don't deviate from that

1. Don't agree with bashing all members of a tribe.
2. I took a specific piece of an article to show how the people were thinking about an issue they feel they were not responsible for.
3. You and the fulani are not together. They don't care about you and never did. It's just easier to have your votes and toss you to the way side. Please check the appointments made and revert back. That's your assignment.

President Buhari has made it known that he will not treat those who voted for him the same he will do those who did not vote him into power.

When a female white journalist asked the president how he intended to deal with issues in the Niger Delta, particularly Amnesty, bunkering and inclusive development, the president said;

"(Going by election results), constituencies that gave me 97% can not in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%. I think these are political realities.

Biafra made more sense until some people started to add warri, parts of edo, parts of ondo, parts of benue. This tribe, that tribe, and co.

It Looks weird

Yah European logic. So we should be the dumb violent ones. Sooo difficult to seat down and be honest about the inability to maintain budgets without oil from another man's region yet there are lopsided methodologies of the same revenue sharing and federal budget infrastructure sharing.

Who is you and the fulani? I'm not a yoruba. And I've said it in previous threads that my family is creole and kalabari from abonnema.

People will vote themselves. So easy isn't it? If you decide to choose Nigeria you can stay there....how hard is it to prove your mettle? Biafra was never an igbo affair...even the name was chosen by a guy from cross river I think or ijaw. It was a collection of the eastern region. You're not invited. You can make a deal across the table if you want to...that's how grownups behave

See I think we are arguing two different things. When I say war I'm not talking shout between biafra or Nigeria I'm talking Niger delta.

And strictly Niger delta between tribes within the Niger delta. Ijaw, bini, itsekiri, urhobo aren't going to sitting around at tables to decide what goes where.

Even at the state level, tribes are beefing over lgas and towns.

It's an issue now, it's definitely going to be a bigger issue

You can't do that in any nation, if you could Blacks would do it in America.

Succession is damn near an act of War.

In America and many other countries I understand because, they are who made these borders.

Wtf not disregard borders made by people not in control of your country or continent. It would be an act of war against who?

The funny thing is the Niger delta and the word south south is sooo ridiculous...seeing the Map

But regarding the various tribes in the region, it's simply a method of debate and voting standards. If we lose the vote, we back off and we enjoy the country we all love so much

The issue is you guys weren't clamoring to leave when Goodluck was President, despite the fact that he did NOTHING for the region.

There's no provision in the Nigerian constitution for referendum so there won't be any vote for self determination, it's not going to happen.

Have you been to Abia, Ebonyi, Imo at all? No roads, trash everywhere, minimal development. Igbo leaders are to blame for that. Starting your own country ain't gonna change poor Igbo leadership. :yeshrug:
