From what I understand, it was a combination of label politics (having to get Interscope/Aftermath, Priority, and No Limit on the same page), inability to actually get permission from Eazy-E's estate to use the NWA name, and scheduling conflicts for everyone not named MC Ren. Cube was picking up the pace with movies, Dre was busy working on 2 Eminem albums, Truth Hurts, and producing other artists, and Snoop was busy being Arch Bishop Don Juan's intern to prepare to play a pimp for his next album.

DAMNED......that's the coldest shyt since

So, don't believe what Ren say/
cause he's going out like Kunta Kinte/

I fukk with MC REN, I give him a pass for his (below average) lyrics on NWA projects......everybody else on those records was spitting bars written by two of the top lyricists in hip hop up to that point. (Cube,DOC)

Most people dont know MC Ren either. But Quik does have a legacy. Quik makes more sense cause hes from Compton, from the same era as NWA and was cool with Eazy. He just fits in Eazy's spot more than anyone else I can think of.

people who were real-time around in the late '80s-early '90s love mc ren across the map.

dj quik was regional.
nor does adding dj quik benefit anyone in any form.

It wouldn’t have worked. By mainstream had completely moved away from gangsta rap.

I think it would've. Even without an album, I think they performed at the first BET Awards. If I'm not mistaken Ren was there too. There's also the fact that Snoop's "Lay Low" was a pretty big song.

The early 90s "nikkaz without Eazy" idea would have worked better than the early 2000s idea. Snoop and Cube were far better at that time, we would have had Kam instead of Em as a feature, daz providing on the production.

Snoop, Yella, and others make it seem like the NWA reunion was never a thing.

If NWA could work without Cube and Arabian prince it could work without Dre and it could have worked without Eazy imo.

Chin check and hello bang
