What happened to the NWA album we was supposed to get early 2000s?

I really wanted that Heltah Skeltah album more than the NWA reunion:mjcry:

I just couldn't see Snoop taking Eazy's place and honestly the album would have been panned to hell due to the complete obvious (Eazy not being on the album).

Hello was the shyt though:wow:
DOC released it himself
The production is rip-offs of the OG songs and written for them

dre needed someone like suge knight to bytch slap his ass into action. once he became a boss his work ethic dropped. i don't even remember the name of his album that has been "tba" for dame near 15 years.he got luck

he got lucky with eminem and fiddy post deathrow period or else he would have stayed as bum ass dre.

:russ: 100% agree. I don't even think its the work ethic, Dre just too damn insecure :what:. Em could've just as easily wrote a "Walk on Water" for Dre :martin:

nikkas like Jay was doin double. Those same Interscope resources for those albums would have been poured into this. Double would have been a flop.

exactly. flop.

i'll raise you triple plat but no higher. I don't see a genuine smash hit coming from that album. the machine can only take you but so far.

solos tend to sell better, and dre is the only member that the mainstream really cared about at that point. Eminem stans weren't supporting ice cube's musical endeavors and they didn't know ren & yella. sure, you add snoop but that's a messy situation.

plus 2001 already used up the nostalgia factor and disappointed more than enough people. as you can see in any clip, the OG core NWA & death row demographic weren't the ones buying tickets to the "up in smoke tour". theres no way a spinoff group album would do dr dre 2001 numbers.

dre was criticized for his lack of work ethic at death row too.

and I wouldn't be surprised if iovine is the real boss over at aftermath.

yea he got lucky with Eminem & 50 cent.

I'm guessing cause of focusing on Eminem and eventually 50 Cent. Plus, Ice Cube fell into a music slump and didn't get out of it until 2006 (Laugh Now Cry Later) and 2008 (Raw Footage). Those albums were dope, but that wasn't the Ice Cube we had from 99-05. That was an entirely different person. And Ren basically disappeared, but I peeped a song of his maybe 3 years ago and I was surprised at how good he still sounded.

Snoop taking Eazy's place would have been disrespectful as hell considering those nikkas hated eachother anyway

I remember Gangsta Dre'sta saying Cube never wanted Snoop to take Eazy's place, but I think it was really up to Dre at the end of the day.
