My skill set personally, i wanted to be an astronaut as a kid but i suck at math and ii'm more interested in science theory rather than application.

But I was always a good writer, and an even better speaker. Never had fears of asking questions or being the first to voice an opinion or answer things in class. My high school was also very english and writing intensive so it only bolstered my skills.

So journalism feels very natural, also i love studying groups of people and how they interact so sociology also feels natural (Durkheim is a personally fav of mine).

So Journalism/Soc, I see kids struggling through finals week and i'm like :manny:. I'm maintaining a 3.0 with 3 classes left and not one class i can say has been "difficult" 1 or 2 time consuming papers...but nothing difficult.

I was always interested in art. Loved to draw and do cartoons and comics and stuff. Did alot of classes in high school(including clay making, airbrushing, and autocad stuff). Went to CC to for graphic design. I'm really interested in cartoons, but there aren't any art schools were i live. There is the Art Institute but heard a few things about that place. Want to switch to multi media graphic design. Could anyone vouch for that?

From your post I'm not sure as to what branch of art you're trying to get into. You stated you like cartoons/animation but now you're steering more towards graphic design/marketing type work?

1. If you could clarify what it is exactly you want to do.

2. You're location?

3. Are you serious about wanting to REALLY pursue a legit career in art? And dis is no disrespect but I'd like to make sure you are because I don't want to waste mah time offering advice if dats not da case. Some nikkas dat have claimed da same interest werent seriously bout dat life and was more on some hobby type shyt. :aicmon:

But if you are indeed interested I can throw some info to ya. :obama:

Wanted something stable, growing, challenging, and provides both a means for self employment and to contribute to the progression of the human race.

Majoring in Computer Engineering and a minor in Philosophy.

Was initially going to double major in poli Sci and international affairs with the intention of going to law school. Took some undergrad law and political classes early on. Set me back considerably when I switched majors.

Love what I do. Trying to get several things off the ground right now.

Originally came into college for Biology since that was the only subject I was interested in during high school. Was going the pre-med route. I honestly didn't care for medicine, but I thought I would get by just doing it for the money...that didn't last too long.

After that I wanted to go into psychology out of genuine passion for the subject and wanting to help people. Didn't like the job prospects and soon realized that I hated the idea of dealing with people on a regular basis(part of my reason for leaving pre-med too).

It took a while but I finally settled on Computer Science. It was honestly a huge "duh" moment when I realized that was the route I wanted to take because I always wanted to do something involved with computers since I was young. All my peers and family members pretty much considered me a computer geek. Since I was never really encouraged to pursue that I kinda just let the idea fade. One day I was talking to my mom about how my friend was an IS major, and she asked "how come you don't want to do that?". I asked myself the same question and at that point it really just hit me.

The thing that really interested me about Computer Science was the programming...it reminded me of art in the way that you are only limited to your imagination on how you want to develop applications. Took the intro class and never looked back. Hopefully graduating in the fall next year.

I love math and physics, but ultimately chose to chase the money and went with Actuarial Science. At least there's math in it though. Unfortunately it's the real dull kind of math.
