What exactly did Black Immigrants do that caused so much Vitriol online?

It’s wild to me. When Nelson Mandela was released from jail and came to America, the FIRST thing he did was come to my high school to the football field and speak to the people of Bed Stuy.

He said during his time in prison no set of people sent more letters to him and for for the anti-apartheid movement more than blacks from Brooklyn. Then I think about the blacks from Harlem who stormed the United Nations in protest of Patrice Lumumba‘s murder. Blacks in this country have always been on the front lines in defense of a lot of African leaders around the world.

Yet I dont think the reverse happens.

In all fairness, these aren't the nikkas most African and Caribbean parents are weery of. It's nikkas.

You think those who do this and are the first to see your last name and give you more game about you than you are the same as Ray Ray from the block that's common on most Black blocks, who sales drugs, gets his history lessons from ComicView and Dej Jam Comedy are the same person. I find in my travels that the conversations in the US are much more focused on white supremacy.

Many Africans are unaware of how the long tail of white supremacy impacts them because whites are not visible in their day to day interactions.

In America....Black folks face that shyt first hand. Wake up to it. code switch to make a living while under it.

I'm tired, breh. I hate that folks have to live through this shyt all the time.

It depends on the audience. I've met plenty of Africans aware of what whites have done and are doing but I've met many that's clueless. I met many Black folks who are just as clueless or don't give a fukk. The average person is selfish, regardless of race and many don't give a fukk.

The smart mfers aren't that common. Most of this board is made up of idiots but 30% of nikkas are smart. Really smart. That said, they aren't common even if their circle is all them and it's common within their circle.

Black immigrants come here not wanting to get it. Sometime in 2018, we had a Minority Parents meeting at my son’s school. The boy attends a real saddity private school so there was an international gathering of minority parents at the meeting. My wife and I disclosed that as Black parents, we usually get all the Black parents together several times a year at our house to talk about issues unique to us as parents and our children. So of COURSE, the Nigerian parent, just in the states a few months, hears this and says they don’t raise their child to see color. The rest of us Black parents at the meeting all looked at each other with like , collectively annoyed at her naivety.

Fast forward to the following January.
My wife gets a call from the UNigerian asking to meet up for lunch. Before she accepts, my calls me wondering why she reached out. I said “think she had her nikka moment yet? Maybe it’s about that!! ”

Confirmed.

During their lunch, Nigerian discloses how she joined the general parents association at the school and was in complete disbelief at how the rich and snooty oyinbo parents at my son’s school are so discriminatory, saying they’re not like this during her time in U.K. and wants to know when we are going to have a next Black parent get together.


I don’t give a f***...I always say that Black immigrants are always a day late when it comes to matters of race, but whatever she experienced, I’m glad it woke her ass up.

I lived in Nigeria for the past three years. Came back months back and leaving again in two weeks.

Dele Giwa was my dad's best friend. You know what happened to him. My dad died of a heart attack heart broken, two weeks after losing a re-election in a rigged campaign.
