I think it might be reasonable to assume that Yeshua might have existed, but he was a nobody considering that the Romans kept well written records.

What most likely happened is this was a peaceful Jewish man, who had some education in Buddhism/Eastern Philosophy, that started a cult of people who believed him to be something more than he could ever be.

The Romans threw him in the Bushes like the other hundreds of "prophets" and moved on. The Cult members made up lies to convert people.

Then the Catholic Church happened.
