I legit think people wanted Bol Bol to fail cause the nikka ugly as sin. Good for him ballin tho.
Yeah unfortunately Vic is more "marketable" *pause* than Bol. I wouldn't be surprised if they marketed them as foils to each other

yup, bol bol broke his foot early in his first season at oregon which caused his draft stock to plummet. but I agree about the similar skillset. I thought bol bol should have been a lottery pick.
He coulda been, but he's played 21 games so far this year. He's played (including college and playoffs the 4 years prior) 66 games. If Wembanyama was as brittle as Bol is, Scoot would be the first pick.

From my limited watching, Wembyama looks a better athlete and has a better jump shot.

Bol Bol was rated high but he broke his foot at Oregon.

Wembyama definitely comes across as more fluid. But I guess we won’t really know until they’re both playing against the same competition.

What a lazy ass comparison.

@2legit you clearly weren't following Bol Bol at the time (which shows how ignorant you are over his stock dropping because of how injury-prone he was; big men with feet problems are one of the biggest red flags of all), and all you see is two abnormally tall, slight and skilled players, and think they're the same. You even had the nerve to reference some HS highlights of Bol when 99.9999999% of the competition he faced weren't even good enough to become semi-pro; whereas Victor has been dominating against grown ass men in one of the top leagues in Europe, on the international stage, and in a setting against the best upcoming prospects in the game.

Bol has been playing well and it's great to see him carving out a role in the league, but his game is more of a novelty than it is a main option player. He's only averaging 13 points a game, isn't really game-planned for, and fades in and out of the contest.

Victor is simply a considerably more dominant, skilled, and impactful player in nearly every conceivable way. It's a disservice to his game to compare him to Bol, besides the fact they share similar measurables.

I think it's a structural thing but I'm surprised when the nuggets made him available not many teams wanted bol it seemed.

Health and work ethic were the 2 big knocks on Bol Bol and I said when he got drafted it woukd take 3 or 4 years for him to really develop.

Victor can do all that stuff out the gate. Plus he can hang more in the paint.

Please explain to me why Victor Wenbenyama is a generational prospect while Bol Bol was a 2nd round pick when Bol Bol was doing the same exact things as Victor in High School. They are the same player with the same skillset. They even look alike on the court. Bol can dribble, shoot, and drive the ball just as good as Victor. If Bol Bol is not getting hype, Victor shouldn't get hype either.

Bol Bol's high school highlights are a carbon copy of Wenbenyama's current highlights.

Ironically for as much as these guys are praised for their guard skills …Victor is way more refined as a post scorer

Way may comfortable playing back the basket traditional big man basketball …Bol simply doesn’t have this in his game and it’s a huge difference between the two …Bol plays like a 7’3 guard …Victor is a 7’3 big with guard skills …there’s a difference

I also think on moves like this ..you can see the difference in the tightness of their handless and the lateral speed difference between the two … Vic gets from point A to point B way quicker than Bol and gets the dribble lower

With all that said I think Bol is incredible ..I wanted by Bulls to take him in the lottery when it was his draft year and I think if it wasn’t for the foot injury concern he would have been a lottery pick and then he’s had the bad luck of playing on teams that had very capable bigs but now you see him finally living up to that potential
