:francis:I hope at some point dems stop this and begin reaching across the isle to craft bills that will actually pass.
This "hey look what i tried to do" sh*t is a waste of time.
Republicans show no inclination to cooperate on anything worthwhile besides raising the debt ceiling and increasing the military budget. Why is that?

Yes, that’s where the fault is, Brother!

Absolutely nailed it!

What was the repeal of Obamacare like 30something times by the Republican led House?
You pass legislation especially popular legislation to show your constituents you are forwarding their concerns. You can say when you run for reelection, "I did what my district asked and proposed X." It's definitely better than doing nothing or reaching across the aisle to do some shyt no one who voted for you wants.

A waste of time:dwillhuh:
I get the "i tried" political play... but reaching a compromise and getting something done(even if its not perfect) seems better in every way to me.

The AOC tweet? It completely ignores the trappings of poverty.
Like much of what she spews, its detached from reality.

That said, I hope her and her "socialist" ilk continue to ignore Obama and go all out with "defund the police"
:jbhmm:

She literally said suburbs have more resources to support people in ways that are proven to reduce crime. She also called it just a starting point and she highlighted the fact that white people in suburbs can afford to largely ignore police. What part of her statement, specifically, is detached from reality? Unless you’re talking about something besides what @bnew posted then I don’t see any issue in her statement.
