Sounds like from reading that article my hypothesis that smarter, improved, targeted law enforcement strategies like Compstat are the primary cause of crime reduction, though obviously not the only reason.

When you focus on specifically targeting terrorist cells like this FBI Mobile Site build cases, and take them off the street instead of just jumping out of cars and tackling random dudes on the corner, neighborhoods get safer overnight.

Well it's certainly a better hypothesis than your crack hypothesis

but crime is a side issue for me, projects is why I started questioning and black people in general should start questioning aspects of left wing economics, projects represent an economic dead end becuase it discourages capitalism and property ownership which are the basic things you need to have a prosperous community, projects are straight up communist

The fact that black leaders with their white liberal friends are pushing black people into projects is another failure of black leadership and shows the emptiness of liberal policies

gentrification is a bytch..

still naught gonna solve anything,Babel-On will crumble regardless..

Its a gold mine, though.

It already crumbled. People thought owning home >>> education & financial literacy. Its either you get to the root of the problem, because its obvious throwing money at the problem doesn't do much.

Are you a commy?

a socialist perhaps

as I think about this subject, and what to do about it, it seems to be the conclusion I come to. so I figured I'd cut to the chase and just put that out there

as a person that grew up in public housing, I find a lot of this thread kind of insulting. there's a lot of talk about "them" like we're not talking about our fellow humans here

I understand.

I personally think adopting some socialist principles in a democracy would be the way to go..

I grew up in small town western mass, but "public housing" none the less. that's the thing with this subject. people like to focus on these high-rise projects in big cities, but "pubic housing" is way bigger than that

I didn't have a "crack hypothesis." I said crime was already down from its height in the 80s and early 90's due to the decline of crack for context. Read.

Projects are socialist and socialism de emphasizes the individual, so in a socialist system it would be a appropriate to refer to residents as "them"

Government officials will always refer to you as "them" that's why you don't want the government owning where you live and that's why projects are unamerican

fukk yeah its a good thing. maybe right now it could be a lil rough for u sensitive suburban cats, but over time it will weaken gang culture and reduce crime. a lot of yall are thinking too much about the present. in 50 years we'll look back and laugh at the idea of project housing.

no, in a socialist system it would be appropriate to refer to residents as "us/we"
