That makes a lot of sense.

I knew Juju back then because he was always around Tip and Large Professor. Didn't meet Les until much later, but I was a huge fan of the group and would never see Fashion around with them. Then when dude left, I would see them talking about why he did and all they would say was that he was "focused on his solo sh*t now", lol.

But it kinda sounds like Juju might've been on some jealousy sh*t because Fashion was seen as the "real MC" of the group back then, and he was the one that people always looked to as the front man in the early days. I just peeped a couple of Fashion's interviews, and it sounds like Juju was doing a lot of wild and shady sh*t. A reunion would be dope, but I hope they take it back to the essence, if they ever do it.

JuJu's son talks crazy about his pops too apparently :francis:

Above the fray.
So funny you say that because it wasn't until recently that I found out that Juju was wildin', and that's why Fashion left the group.

Fashion is still cool with Les, but him and Juju STILL have issues today. I don’t know what happened, but it made dude leave the group.
They always seemed like a made up group, so not surprised about behind-the-scenes drama. Actual groups have drama and conflicts, but have an easier time working through them because they have history together.

They were beat makers, old school record convention digging crates type of dudes. Juju was in the Can I Kick It video, joking and playing around.

Got the impression, from the outside, that somebody offered them a group deal so they took, and found an actual rapper (Fashion).
Also, before producers had visuals attached to them, confused them with SD50 /Stimulated Dummies

Found it funny when he and the group pivoted to tough talk/gun play/sell drugs records, though.
But they came across like loose cannons and legit crazy dudes, so I believed them.

The labels wanted them to get together after hearing Fashion on other people's albums. He said Intoxicated Demons was supposed to be his solo album, but after he got locked up, Juju and Les had to do songs without him and rhyme more. So when he got home, they just became a group. Fashion said when he got locked up, Juju and Les started making all these gun and drugs records, which wasn't what they did before he went away, lol.

But according to him, he was the one who got them the deal because he was writing for Chi-Ali and the labels were interested in him as a rapper, with Juju and Les doing the beats. But I didn't know him and Juju had so many issues. I had to look into that. Apparently, they're still not that cool today!

Funny because Fashion said he had to change his style to fit in the Native Tongues. He was rapping like Kool G rap before he came into the group according to him and hates that he switched his style. LES is the quiet dude of the group that lets Juju lead but from what I understand him and LES always always cool and said LES was never on his "me no black" papi thing. To be honest Juju wanted to be the star of the group and couldn't rap as a good a Fash and started internal beefs behind the scenes. Not for nothing but I think Fashion is on some bullshyt too because he started saying VIC was trying to use the the group to get put on production on his own too lol

Truth!

I heard him on a podcast saying he was trying out mad styles to fit in with Native Tongues. Fashion always said that Juju wanted to be the frontman and was jealous when labels started asking about who he was, lol.

But like you said, I feel like Fashion and Juju both did a lot of foul sh*t. Thing is, I never hear Juju speak on any of it. It's always just Fashion. So the stories are mad one-sided. He was talking sh*t about how VIC was brought in to replace him while he was locked up, but then later spoke about how he's "family" with VIC now and he speaks to him like everyday. So I don’t know. Just seems like a lot of bad blood, but we're only getting Fashion's take on it.
