I'll give you a better example. In the 1960s, alabama public transit users chose not to take the busses. They obviously faced an immediate loss in the form of no transport, but they gained concessions from the whites in montgomery afterwards; which yeilded more benefits to the black population than they would have had with the original status quo. The white ownership class began to respect the black people that previously supported their institutions once their support was no longer a given.

The no-vote concept is similar
That was a boycott.
The efficiency of boycotts is rooted in direct financial consequences and is ultimately a short term leverage tactic, somewhat similar to a strike.
If the party being boycotted or a strike levied against can survive the tactic, it renders the tactic ineffective.
Montgomery bus boycott lasted a year.
The withdraw of Black people from the political process would have an effect on only one of the major political parties.
If we are 13% of the American population, and only some of that population votes, how much damage do we actually cause the DNC by withholding?

The way you talk is hostile "If I wanted to roast y'all" That has already been tried and failed.

At the local level, Black votes have more power. It's harder to ignore our issues, so they have to bring something to the table. Plus there are measures to vote on even if all the candidates suck.
I'm from Detroit. The major city with the highest Black population in America. That's not true.

Nah. By not voting, you not only hurt the people you once were voting for, you help those who are opposed to you. Economic boycotts didn't help segregationists further their cause.

What would actually help get attention would be voting Republican or 3rd party. Not voting is a ticket to irrelevance.

Well the idea is that you have a political agenda and vote for the politician that most closely aligns to your political agenda. The only thing voting for a politician that is not aligning with your political agenda communicates is that you aren't serious about your political agenda and will just go along with things anyway because you have been properly programmed into doing such. By not voting and being vocal about it you show people you are serious about your agenda and create incentive for a politician looking for votes to go after yours by including some of your agenda into theirs. And then that is who you go and vote for.

- we would be able to say " we want X Y and Z as a community or yall fakkits aint gettin shyt!" possibly encouraging some act-right with both parties

Republicans don't ask for our vote. They don't care.
What's to keep the dems from doing what they've always done in that scenario, which is promise Black ppl the world then play weak and dumb once elected?

You get parties actually attempting to court your vote instead of getting nothing in return. Do you buy a car from the first dealership or do you visit multiple dealerships and negotiate a price?
All of us who like this post, it time for us to get these shills up outta here. They done got too big for their bridges

it would force politicians to come with tangible benefits to win our votes.
The dncs break their campaign promises to Black people every election cycle.
So when that happens and we decide not to vote for that person and they lose their seat to a rpub, who doesn't give a fukk about us, is actively trying to reduce our rights and will push the line for his base unlike the dem that he took the seat from, how does that help us?
