This album and that whole era I feel was ‘you had to be there’. I’m 33 and although I knew Hard Knock Life and the other big songs, I was only 10. When I went back early 2000s to rappers older stuff I thought this was pretty average.
Jay is spitting but for someone who grew up in his teen years listening to Kanye, Just Blaze, Heatmakerz etc plus going back through the 90s classics, the production on this and so much late 90s stuff is horrible to me.
