Star Trek DS9 is one of my all time favorites. Finished it late last year, and I still miss it, so I started looking up alternatives and saw some say they feel a show called Babylon 5 is just as good or better, so I'm on that now. I was forewarned that season 1 is bad, but im enjoying it for what it is so far. I guess hearing it supposedly gets epic season 2 onwards keeps me engaged. It reminds me a lot of DS9: they're living in a ship, lots of shades of grey, etc. Both have a hard ass woman as second in command, alien politics, Londo and G'kar remind me of Quark and Odo too lol.

What else is there? What's better between the stargate stuff and the battlestar gallactica stuff? I saw there was like 3 different star gate series :damn:

I also vaugely remember a show called andromeda. I'm more into the long story arc with strong character development rather than the episodic format of the older star treks. I'm cool with how DS9 did it where it's a blend of both, but it was definitely at its best during the dominion wars where there was less filler.

Apparently it was shown in syndication back in the 70s and was so popular among sci-fi fans that it even had its own comic book through the now defunct Charlton Comics. I lucked up on an issue off of Ebay some years back.

It's sort of a sterile version of Star Trek (some good action, a little bit horror in some eps) but if you have a Roku at home, there are a handful of episodes to view on a couple of the app channels.

I would put Babylon 5 up there since it was in direct competition with DS9 but i love the cast of DS9 too much...

Also stargate Atlantis was kick ass.. especially when Ronan joined the squad... :banderas: best stargate team ever...

I always liked Star Trek Yoyager, its my favorite sci fi series all of time :blessed:

First show I ever checked for weekly as a kid, I'll never forget watching the series finale live :mjcry:

It has most of those things mentioned the OP, I'm currently re watching Yoyager and I'm enjoying as much as I did as a kid, and it has the GOAT star trek villain, The Borg.

Also some DS9 characters make a cameo in the plot of Yoyager
when that fortune cookie head breh tries to finesse Harry Kim from Yoyager on DS9 its kinda funny :pachaha:

I have yet to fully watch DS9 but I heard Sisko is much more "bold" than Jeneway when it comes to dealing with Alien species who have a issue with them or whatever

For DS9, only seen the plot, "Sacrifice of angels" and the episode before it.

Sacrifice of angels though :banderas:

That quote from Sisko before the fukkery...

"There was a wise saying.... fortune favors the bold :sas1:"

"Guess were about to find out :sas2:"

Seeing damn near the entire Starfleet getting ready to have a space battle with that Alien species...

One of my favorite episodes ever of any TV Show, its too bad Starfleet got that work though :damn: until Wolf and his Klingon goons came with the :cape:

Sisko was a badass who aint take shyt from anyone. It didnt matter who it was that's what i loved about him. He told picard to fukk off, punched the god Q in the fukking face, beat the shyt out of the cardiassian president. beat up klingons in hand to hand combat. told worf to man the fukk up stop crying about shyt or GTFO, Gassed an entire planet forcing terrorists to leave....

So many classic moments. :banderas:
