What's your major? You really shouldn't be at the library for that long (unless you're writing a paper or studying for finals/midterms).
Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I'd disagree with the words in bold. It's virtually impossible to grasp all the material and complete homework without studying for hours on end, which doesn't not necessarily mean studying without breaks. Otherwise, you risk falling behind in courses where the material compounds.

Really, virtually every other race has a strong male establishment tradition that they usually teach to their men that ensures that regardless of how many women try to tap the hoe phase/rush into colleges with those bummy majors/become legit professionals, the men ultimately control the paper/sexual narrative past a certain age.
Of course its no surprise why we fall behind in that regard bcs of the current state of our family. The effects of a nonexistent patriarchy and the 'fukk-all, no daddies mean ima hoe for life'- mentality hits us hard.

Little boys thinking they have to pick up a ball to get girls, no pops, nobody in his family caring about education, the media making black men out to be either modern-day mandingoes (sports) or pretty much anything else that isn't related to intellectual success. All these things factor in that skewed-ass college ratio. Still, brehs (like me) are outchea chasing this knowledge and when time alotts, them skirts:troll: while still trying to make some kind of dent in the stereotypes we get slammed into us daily. Its an uphill battle though:mjcry: But we gon be alright:blessed:
Is that Amara La Negra in your
:russ: I'm at the library right know working on some Physics homework!
There isn't nothing wrong with spending your Saturdays at the library! It will pay off at the end.
Problem sets?

:umad:You chose a major that requires a lot of memorizing. Chemical engineering is hard as fukk I'm not going to lie. I switched from chem Engineering to Software Engineering last year. So far I have all A's compared to the B's I was racking up as a chem E major.

Aight, my whole point to this thread was to spin the: What are some ways black men can help black women lose weight thread.

Truth is, neither side can do either for the other side.

I've literally never heard anyone say that about any engineering major. Understanding is much easier, which is why engineering isn't hard honestly. It just takes time.
You said molecular biology. Anything biology related requires a lot of memorizing. I wasn't referring to the Chem E. I'm guessing that you double majored?

This is why I say do what you're good at. You will be much happier for it and get paid more obviously.

I know dudes that can just sit in class and not study that shyt. They have a photographic memory or whatever. If it's taking you 10 hours a day to get the material that subject ain't for you. Pick up a major that comes easier like other dude said Software or whatever else have you. There are all kinds of engineering out there. Talk to the guys in other STEM majors and see what fits you best.

I understand there are a lot of other guys in your shoes who will do the same exact thing. But there's no point in spending half of your life in a library unless it's something you love and you're 100% sure there will be a well paid fulfilling gig after school for you. If you even hesitate in saying "Absolutely" reconsider your options Brother.

They'll either have to reconfigure how it's taught or just deal with a lack of chem engineers if they can't make the material more digestible to even people who are geared towards that subject matter. Always be thinking of what is the opportunity cost for me learning this stuff? What will I gain from it?

Biomolecular does not mean molecular biology. And it's a single major, which is what a lot universities do these days, just with more course. In terms of pure Bio courses, I'm only required to take one; the other Bio-related courses, optional, are Bioengineering courses. Good luck trying to memorizing your way through topics like metabolic pathways. :pachaha:

Stop, just because you have to work hard at something does not mean it's not for you. :comeon:

People don't make it through a year of engineering by memorizing engineering topics. :heh: I've seen it firsthand. At some point, if you don't grasp the concepts, you will burn out because you can't apply concepts to the more difficult material. Furthermore, I actually enjoy being in the library and it's not something that I started doing once I majored in engineering. Plus, I'd say a 3.1 going into year 4 i.e graduation here I come :blessed: and making Dean's List means I'm doing something right. :ld:
