What are some harsh movie/tv realities you've had to accept?

No lethal weapon is the perfect buddy cop series. And rush hour ain’t universally loved homie. Especially once we get to part 3. But hey I’m sure you know the whole universe and I don’t so I’ll let you call it
y'all should make a buddy cop poll thread/ tourney. I'd be interested in witnessing that convo :lupe:

We'll never get another Ghostbusters with the original cast, even if Harold Ramis was alive and Rick Morranis came out of retirement, it wasn't meant to be.

We'll never get a legit finale to married with children

it's probably best that it didn't. They waited too long and as much as I love Ghostbusters, only Bill and Harold would be great in it. Ernie and Dan would be wild cards.

Kane died in

Clearly he did. The whole movie is basically the fukked up shyt he was a part of being told in the form of a flashback before he died. Even his last words were something along the lines of his grandfather asking him if he cared if he lived or died and his last words were now it's too late.

I love that movie so much, and it captured the tone of the tv show and updated the humor and action to be good enough to keep me engaged.
It deserved a sequel.

While on the topic, Hot Take:
The lone ranger (2013) was a cool movie that got sandbagged by criticism from people who never saw or intended to see the movie.
It was actually probably one of the best depictions of how dirty indians were getting done, and featured dozens of actual indians, but became the first "we're going to be mad a white person is playing a Non white fictional character regardless of the contect" victims.

Spin-off reality is Armie Hammer catches bad breaks. Lone Ranger & Man from UNCLE were great movies that were unfairly panned.

No Whammies!!
For all the talk of there not being SciFi/adventure/fantasy movies starring black people, we sure don't go support the few that have been made recently (Kin, Slight, Bright).

The say Bright's initial viewership numbers where equivalent to a theatrical movie with a $98 million opening weekend.

The ratio of bad Simpsons episodes outweigh the classic episodes
20 seasons to 10

I was a Simpsons fan from back in the Tracy Ulman days, and there was never a point in time when I would have named Futurama as one of my favorite shows, but I've been watching some of the Futurama mini-marathons on the SyFy channel and...

The "average" Futurama episode > The "average" Simpson's episode
:mjcry:

And there are A LOT of Futurama episodes, so it's a two season wonder like The Boondocks, etc.
And even the post-cancellation seasons contained some All Time Classic episodes like "The Late Philip J Fry".

I didn't even watch much Futurama in real time, but turn on a random mini-marathon of Futurama and you'll see more consistently high quality/funnier episodes than a random mini-marathon of Simpsons episodes.

Gay agenda is here to stay.

Live action movies based on other media despite having bigger budgets will always be vastly inferior to shyt that people put on youtube for fun because studios have no passion for the source material.

Simpsons is basically dead.

Remakes suck.

once a certain style of movie drops in popularity it's basically dead forever.

- No live-action Star Wars film is ever going to touch the greatness of the OG trilogy (Episodes 4, 5, and 6).

- Neither Stan Lee nor Jack Kirby lived to see a dope Fantastic Four movie. :mjcry:

- There will probably never be a comics-faithful rendition of the Dark Phoenix Saga. Fox is most likely going to botch it (again), and Marvel won't want to do the same story again right after the fact (once the Fox buyout goes through).

- The 90s era of Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network greatness will never again be touched. There are still good shows here and there, but that age of 24/7 piff is done. People nowadays are too stuck on shoehorning their politics and agendas into EVERYTHING instead of just letting stories cook and writing for a general audience.

- There will never be another golden age for black sitcoms like in the 90s (Martin, Fresh Prince, etc.)

- Just like a previous poster said... Terminator and Jurassic Park are done. They're never again touching the greatness of JP1 and T1/T2.

- Dragonball will forever be the Goku and Vegeta show. Gohan will never truly be that dude again, and my boy Krillin's BEEN done. Same for Piccolo and Tien. They never treated Yamcha right :to:

- The Simpsons have been trash longer than they've been great. The first 8 seasons are goatworthy, too. :sadbron:

- Another TMNT flick using the original animatronics from the first two would be fire, but the studios are probably never doing that.

- One Piece will never achieve mainstream popularity in America. The 4kids dub ruined their chances. It's a shame too, because OP is a piff series.

- Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Part 3) spoilers...
Why they gotta kill my boys Avdol, Iggy, and Kakyoin? :mjcry:
