We will never get a Borg Origin movie. We will never get a Star Trek series based in the new universe set from 2009.

The black renaissance of 90s tv will probably never be replicated again

There will not be an A Team sequel. Or RockNRolla sequel

Ridley Scott is done as a director. His brother was always better anyway

Rush hour hasn’t aged well and it’s a sign of Brett Ratner being a meh director and a worse human being.

A movie adaptation of Kraven’s last hunt or another version of the night Gwen Stacy died are probably not happening.

Also, and probably the most important, the shyt is a business first and foremost. People may bytch and moan about remakes and reboots and looking to well know IPs but that’s the studio system right now that we helped create. Original ideas don’t get a lot of traction in movies anymore because so much of the moviegoing public decides not to see those flicks in theaters. So now studios are more afraid to take risks and want safe bets. The risks will now be on tv or on Netflix or Hulu or amazon. Our dollars have told them what we want
Adding to the last point, I had to accept that Hollywood has always been like this. Many of the earliest movies were adaptations of famous novels or plays. Before there were superhero movies, there were westerns. People look at the period of wild creativity in the 70s and 80s and think of that as the norm rather than the exception. And honestly, it wasn't even that much of an exception. For every original idea like Star Wars or Robocop or Ghostbusters, you had dozens of movies either based on old properties or trying to ape them for a quick buck. Not to mention those once original ideas were eventually commodified and resold themselves with alarming quickness.

It's why I kind of roll my eyes at people always complaining about the lack of originality when I know most of them don't care to look for it. The major summer blockbuster space has never been the place to look for that kind of thing. You've always had to look to television or film festivals or other places where there is less money involved and thus more freedom. It is what it is.

Still praying for that season 6.

:mjcry:

Praying David Simon got something for us focusing on the prison system with corrupt COs like Dwight serving them hot shots, prison politics, gangs, Sergei, Ziggy etc etc.. Ending the season with Avon getting out and being picked up by Slim Charles.

We all know at the end of season 5, Slim had the Greek.

The King stay the King.
He stated if Season 6 did in indeed pick up after Season 5, he was going to focus on the influence of Hurricane Katrina's victim's impact on Baltimore....from the street level and up

If anyone lost their edge it's Eddie. I would love to see him make a come back.
I don't watch his current movies.

I'm speaking more on his interviews or when he's on some talk show as a guest or something. He's still one of the funniest cats out there.
