Light skin
Light eyes
Light hair
Straight hair
Narrow noses
Double eyelids (non-Asian eyes)

some of the older ones included
small butts (it was common in my childhood for women in movies and shows to ask if their butts look too big)
skinny (models)
razer thin lips
etc

European beauty standards are most detrimental to black women because they are the complete opposite of everything I mentioned above.
Beauty standards also affect women more than men since beauty matters more to women.

It does affect black men, hence the jerry curls in the 80s, relaxing their hair before the 70s, paper bag tests, and skin bleaching in the Caribbean and Africa.
It also makes some black men desire lighter skin women due to self-hatred and seeing black features as ugly.
Furthermore, darker skin tones are considered by the aforementioned standards to be more poor, criminal, ugly, dumb etc.

Asian women are heavily affected by European beauty standards. South Korea is the world capital of plastic surgery (nose, eyes, chin, etc.).
All those East Asian countries have a bleaching and plastic surgery epidemic. Parents give their daughters double eyelid surgeries as gifts.
They also dye their hair blonde/brown and get contacts to look more European.

There’s some validity to the idea, but a whole lot of it is bullshyt.

We can’t dismiss things like the “doll test”; where little black kids considered the white dolls to be prettier than the Black dolls. They got that idea from somewhere. Usually from the media and often from their own parents.

On the other hand, Black women Have historically been the most beautiful women in the planet. They have actually set many of the beauty standards that we have today. Nowadays, full lips and nice round asses are in. We know that ain’t come from no white white women.

Today, a lot of sisters have just gotten lazy and have fell for the lie that they aren’t beautiful, so they’ve resorted to going to extremes with their hair and make up to try to feel beautiful. If Black women as a whole, cared enough to stay in shape, wear their own hair, not cake on tons of make up, and to put some effort into their clothing choices, they’d be killing the game.

just look at these Black women from back in the day. Look at em!

Black men are judged by the same European beauty standards to an extent. The Black men with crossover appeal to non black women tend to be the ones that look like they might be mixed with something( boris kodjoe, shemar moore, Tyson Beckford, that prince from bridgerton).

You don't hear about Black men complaining about the European beauty standard that much since Black men are usually linked up with Black women and move in mostly Black social circles and Black women will be more accepting in general of Black features like thicker hair, darker skin, etc.

You’re not going to get honest answers in here OP :skip:
Non-white women from other races/cultures don’t really complain about the ‘Euro beauty standards’ because they would only really be trying to appeal to the men of their own race/culture anyway — who go by different standards.

The overwhelming majority of Black men prefer their women to have natural hair and a slim thick body with bigger ‘assets’. The shade of ‘black’ doesn’t matter if a woman has a body shape similar to Bria Myles, and wears her natural hair or Afrocentric hairstyles. It doesn’t make any sense for black women to be complaining about the Euro beauty standards (basically ‘sexual racism’), because those aren’t the standards Black men go by, and never have. Expect a lot of juelzing in here.

So a black woman has to rock long natural hair and a body like a video model in order to
Be attractive to
Black men ?

Interesting.

So the Black women that complain about European Beauty Standards, will more often be found in social circles with white people?

Pick up western mainstream magazines on fashion or women

Or western mainstream movies

Runways a decade ago

And you'll notice that all the women have a look -> that's the Western standard of beauty

I don't know where you got that it only applies to Black women.

Doesn't a significant segment of Asian women with means use surgery to straighten their nose, slit their eylids, or get blue or green eyes?

Asian Women Are Now Getting Surgery To Have Thinner 'Caucasian' Lips

I Can't Stop Looking at These South Korean Women Who've Had Plastic Surgery

Where does it come from? Colonization and the spread of the American way of life & culture which inundated the whole world media as early as the 1950s.

Nobody is "responsible". It's a cultural phenomenon.

Surgery for thinner lips? :what:

I would also say that the beauty standard exist because of the Age of Exploration and the invention of race. Before the 15th century, curvy women with large lips, small eyes, and curly hair were near-worshipped in Europe. Look at ancient Greek and Roman statues. The only thing that remained constant were paler skin were more sought after but that was due to the poor being more likely to work outdoors and get tans compared to the wealthy. Very dark skin was heavily admired especially since Egyptians, Nubians, and East Indians were powerful civilizations where the majority of the population had dark skin.

When the concept of race and chattel slavery arose, the European beauty standard was invented to convince white people of their "inherent superiority" and further psychologically justify atrocities committed against people of color around the world.

It wasn't always like this

You'd have a point, if the world was only made up of black men and women.
But it's not, so you're hella wrong.
As a world where white people are largely on top, this means many opportunities for advancement are in white people's hands/purview.
Women not being picked as muses for the high fashion/modeling world due to the distance between black women and the white "ideal".
Not being promoted at jobs due to "not fitting in with the company vision".
It's deeper than punani and dikk.

European standards of beauty is another way of gatekeeping, and it sucks.
