Solo Leveling and Kaiju No. 9 both made me realize one plot point that really irritates me

When the MC who is vastly stronger than everyone else has some meh reasoning for keeping their identity secret

It gets old as hell seeing everyone have the same interaction with em over an over, makes me wanna skip ahead in the story

"SMACK, who is this weak ass nikka? :mjlol: "

"Here we'll give you some sympathy for being weak :mjpls: "

"Oh shyt we bouta die :damn: none of us can handle this"

"Oh damn you ain't weak :ohhh: geez I sure do apologize"

And then the one hater in the group who can't handle it

I'm fine with seeing it for one group initially.

But I was hella annoyed watching that shyt today in that dungeon :why: we already seen this shyt man, speed up to where they realize he's not a lemon please, I don't care about seeing their shocked :ooh: expression THAT much imma waste my time watching them struggle while he plays dumb

Looks like SLF is starting the next big arc. This is one that will last a long time and will continue through much of S3.

This episode adapted chapters 36-38. Noting the following.

  • From chapter 36, S1 Ep 12 adapted the classroom scene where Nene was worried about Kou and Hanako got jealous and messed up her hair. This goes for a more anime original scene where Kou gets the invitation from the Mokke in the girls' bathroom. While in the manga, Nene also made Kou cupcakes to cheer him up. He received both of these in his classroom.
  • Another thing is that Nene talks to Akane alongside Hanako in Home EC classroom. Here we see her having that conversation with Akane alone, which clearly has him suggesting inviting Kou to the summer festival. I do like the addition of Aoi seeing Akane and Nene talking while everyone else is paying attention to her. Because of her arc that will take place in S3.
  • Chapters 37+ 38 were pretty well adapted. With the last 2 pages of chapter 38 will be placed at the start of the next episode.

It was really sweet for Nene trying to cheer up Kou. This episode takes place directly after episode 11 where Mitsuba becomes School Mystery #3. Obviously, Hanako can't come to the summer festival, so the 3 of them will be going to the boundary festival. I loved how Kou's wish was so noble and Nene just wanted skinner ankles.

Hard to say if it was a dream or Nene went into the past, the last part of the episode was great. This is the 2nd time Nene sees Amane in his living form and the first was after she escaped from "Nowhere" when Hanako brought her back to her world. Here we get to see Nene spend time with him. At first, Nene started acting desperate to get Amane's tanzaku, but I loved how Amane went back together. Most of their interactions were very wholesome. Amane was clearly crushing on her.

Although the end gave a very ominous feeling. We know from Tsuchigomori that Amane was supposed to be a teacher at the school. Also, he had aspirations of being an astronaut and this episode even illustrates that is very true. As Nene leaves, he wishes to see Nene again. Which happens. This one moment took the episode from an adorable and wholesome feel to slightly depressing when you really think about it and theorize what it could mean.

Solo Leveling is that hsow right now. I like how strong the production is. Also, do they usually put this much efforts in manwha. I legit thought they wouldn't put that much effort because it's based off a Korean story. I was probably overthinking things there

Sakomoto days is fun, but it's lame that we're an episode behind. I know I can use a VPN, but I don't feel like putting that much effort to do that

I enjoy Apothecary Diaries and I have to get used to it's based due to binging s1 last month. The show is still enjoyable, but it's def one of those shows you have to get used to pace after binging

Hell no I think they learned after they saw Tower of God get butchered, that shyt was supposed to do numbers but it flopped because they didn't respect the source material like they should have

I've seen people saying they're skipping a bit through Solo Leveling but it's nothing major or plot breaking, I haven't read so I can't say myself

Specially when we are coming off an episode that was precisely about giving Jinwoo his real rank so we could get new missions and interactions.

That blonde Hunter gonna be all on Jinwoo's DM once she finds out he's an S rank :mjlol:

Having said that, I'm still pretty intrigued by what these orcs are about to do :feedme:

Yea it's like putting the toothpaste back in the tube, just let the shyt progress forward naturally instead of constantly bringing us back to square 1 with different characters

This was a more interesting episode than I expected from this series.

This episode was interesting for me because bonds are where Red gets his strength. The flashback gets an idea where bonds go against him. The bond Red forged with Teltina got Lowji jealous. And he was idiotic for taking Red's bond plate, which put Teltina in a rough spot. I feel like a big point is that building the bond between Red and Lowji won't happen overnight. Lowji should have more confidence that Teltina won't look at another one to be her hero. Despite being a princess, she didn't have much to her name. The flashback really showed she had to work hard to find him.

Although on a more fun note, I love how mischievous Teltina is for getting Red and Yihdra together. Also, the look over of Yihdra's boobs saying good and Red and Yihdra being together and saying bad had me dying of laughter.

My god, this adaptation is turning out way better than I could ever imagine. They adapted the Hikaru performance in this episode so well. That is not to mention the other parts of the episode were great. Mittens inner struggle of feeling to be on her own. Tsukasa standing up for Inori against Jun.

In terms of story and character writing, this is the best sports anime since Ao Ashi. Honestly, the animation execution is better than Ao Ashi. Plus there are sports anime between that time in Tonbo and Oblivion Battery with great stuff as well. Given that Engi is adapting it, this is beyond surprising.

Towards the beginning of this episode we are introduced to Jakuji Unan who is the doctor at the hospital which is near where Kiyoka works. He is also a relative of Kiyoka's mother's side. Despite what his first impression was, he noticed Miyo's hands and sought to heal them right away.

Two big things when Kiyoka and Miyo go visit Godo. The first we learn about Godo's father, who wanted to recruit Kiyoka. Of course, it is evident that Kiyoka wasn't the type to understand what others were saying when he was younger. Which isn't surprising. It took until Godo's father died for him to realize that. More so, seeing Godo in that position brought back those memories as we know what happened to Godo isn't his fault. Just kind of a reminder that Kiyoka is carrying numerous burdens.

The other big news which Godo leaked out accidentally is that Karouko was a former prospective to be Kiyoka's fiancé. To add, moreover, her love was more so one-sided. Kiyoka might not even know her feelings. Kiyoka makes it clear to Miyo that he has only feelings for. Glad that was properly communicated. I am also happy Miyo was able to convey her feelings to wanting to be friends with Karouko because she never had a true friend. As Yurie and Hazuki started as a more family bond. It is clear that Karouko is hurting of her love never coming to fruition by perhaps her friendship with Miyo can help heal her heart. Plus, this episode made it evident of the impact Kaoruko has had on Miyo. As a woman who stands up for herself, she had the courage to mention how she wanted to be friends with her and at the beginning of the episode for standing up for Kaoruko when she wasn't around.

Usui is plotting shyt. With the capture of the Mikado and while Kiyoka is away dealing with that, he is infiltrating the base. We know it is mentioned how deadly he is from last week's episode, but seeing it on display is something else. I assume we will see Kaoruko's supernatural ability next week.
