The conversation at the beginning of this episode was very interesting. The mention of the church's torturing techniques. The corruption of the church and they can only see examples of why they should continue what they are doing rather than also looking at examples. It is that foundation of terror and torture is what Antoni was able to rise in the ranks. To think Damien has been here since the start of the series.
Though it is not a surprise that Nowak is in a complete mess even after all of this time after losing his daughter. For Nowak his hatred for heliocentrism is bar none. Considering he doesn't know his daughter is alive, he thinks heliocentrism is the reason for everything that has happened to him. It is his enemy that keeps returning. For him, heliocentrism is a true evil. If we get a reunion of father and daughter, it will be very interesting.
As Draka meets up with Jolenta, I think why many people didn't assume Jolenta was the leader was based on what we know from her. She was very soft and in line. Though through all of these years, she has changed so much. The first indication that her threat against Draka felt real if Draka didn't handle the conversation well. But conviction being a strength and a limitation is interesting. While yes, you will presume those things. As Jolenta alluded to, having a conviction towards something can make you blind to such things. Her conviction to heliocentrism is part of the reason she changed. Granted, she had to because Antoni basically ruined her life. I think a key for Draka to understand the downfall of following your convictions too closely.
Though I absolutely did love when Draka was talking about what was inside the book, we saw a shot of Oczy. It was like he was reading the book to her. It headlines back in the series where Jolenta considers reading and writing a miracle and that scene was another example justifying her claim.
