Essential What Anime are you currently watching?

Aka is a mediocre author as simple as that.

Better than average IMO but also can't stick the landing. Makes compelling interesting stories with bad endings.

It's more than just incapable of landing the ending. Most of Aka's series falls halfway through since he can't write drama with substance to save his life. It's been an issue with now 4 series he has written. Won't get into details of the issue, but basically for where the anime is for both Kaguya & OnK it's only downhill from here.

For Oshi no Ko the main story is by far the worst part of it. While the side story stuff that forms the first half of the series is immensely better.

Chapters 18-20 were adapted in this episode. Similar to before they executed the loneliness Momo felt since she wasn't able to hang out with Okarun and then the sudden to her seeing Okarun on top of Aira.

For the last part of the episode, they nailed making the scene tense as Momo was trying to hide. They also nailed Aira unleashing her powers for the first time.

Spoiler: Dandadan Episode 8

Gotta love the way they put Okarun's ball back is by playing ball xD.

Beyond that, the series gets back what it does best and banter, this time between Momo & Aira. She is determined to exorcise Momo, but clearly has developed feelings for Okarun. With that said, I don't know if I should laugh or feel sorry for her for getting relationship advice from her dad's porn collection.

To add on top we got the classic troupe of guy falling on top of girl misunderstanding. Okarun had good intentions since he wanted to just work out, but Aira got in the way. On the one hand, it would have been better for him to be honest with her. Though I would imagine she just cares about hanging out with him less about what they are doing. We're already banging with another incident with the Aliens and this time Momo & Okarun are separated with Okarun being with Aira. The transformation sequence for Aira was great and given that the aliens said that only high spiritual density individuals should be able to enter the void space.

Just finished the latest episode of Dandadan. Might have been the funniest for me in the beginning, until things took a turn towards the end.

I'm guessing they are supposed to be like freshman in High School

They do get a lot of mileage out of misunderstandings, but as long as its resolved quickly and it continues to be funny I don't mind.

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance - Episode 8

They did a fantastic job at introducing and making Cho dislikable from the start. Putting the poor kid in danger multiple times and holding him hostage was so awful. Adding the part of wanting to test on the kid is even worse.

Though Kenshin landed some big blows already, but given Cho's equipment, the effect has been limited. The fight is just getting started.

While I get that Cho getting the sword was bad news, but given Seiku's son was used as a hostage I would have thought giving up that sword's location for his son's safety would have been a no-brainer.

My Happy Marriage OVA from S1 dropped on Netflix which was essentially episode 13 since it covered the last chapter in V2. As usual the directing and animation in this adaptation is amazing. Comparisons between anime and novel below.

There are some details the anime skipped about Arata and his motivation which is worth a read since I believe the anime skipped that portion. Chapter 3 + Epilogue of V2 has it. It is really the only thing about the anime I was bummed about since it was pretty important.

The reveal of Hazuki of having a son happened later in the anime as seen with this episode. Though I feel they handled it well despite the change. While V1 was beautifully adapted, V2 of the Novel and anime each has their pros. It might be a case of consuming both is optimally the best. The scene regarding Miyo and her mother when she was in Usuba house was wonderful as anime original content. Still, Arata and Miyo's grandfather are much more characterized in the novel that the anime didn't dive into, which is why I would recommend reading chapter 3 as I pointed out before.

I haven't read the manga, so I am not sure if that offers a suitable alternative to the scenes in V2 Chapter 3 and Epilogue. Really excited for S2, but I will prob continue reading the novels before S2 starts.

I'm on EP 12 of season 2 of Vinland Saga. I loved season one, but so far I'm bored to tears and thinking of dropping season 2. Does it get better from here, or is it more of the same?

Yeah, more of a slice of life than a full on romance though. Ep. 9 has one of those cliffhangers that I know the otakus will lose their minds to

I thought season 2 was incredible and it does get better in the 2nd half of it. But it's all about internal journeys and character development though, so if you couldn't get into it after 12 eps, wouldn't bet on you changing your mind about the season tbh.

ReZero is a hard watch seeing how the protagonist keep getting OWNED so bad and it seem like theres no hope.
