Saw the opening credits for Dan Da Dan on TikTok and it had me :whoo::leon:

Checked out the 1st episode on Netflix, which I guess are dropping weekly. I normally gravitate to fighting anime, but the premise of ghosts + aliens and the kinetic animation had me :ehh:

Man if they redo bleach like this quality and fix the pacing that shyt goat status level

Solid series but it never belonged in the GOAT conversation. Kubota created an antagonist so powerful that it derailed the series. That's not Aizen where it's charming trolling with that power either. Yhwach the big bad lacks that charm.

Bleach introduces too many characters and does nothing with most of them. It also abandons major plot threads or never gives them the attention they deserve.

It's an 8/10 level series at best. Worst of it's big 3.

As an adaptation, this had its up and downs as a manga reader. I do commend them for being able to adapt the first major arc in S1. Visuals overall were decent and hopefully with the good viewership, can give Silver Link a bigger budget for S2.

Granted I am not a fan of Silver Link adapting it, but it has been one of their better projects as of late. The manga only gets better from where the anime ended.

Also it is the rare Action-Comedy series from Jump where it feels like the series is actually planned as the conclusion of the manga looks pretty solid. Not the most innovative series, but it has a lot of heart. In which it is charming in its own way.

Very excited. Those that liked or loved S1 will absolutely love the content to come in S2. Some really great fights and character interactions to come. Highly suspect them to end S2 around chapter 70.

I thought Bocchi S2 would have announced after the recap movie, but looks like I was wrong on that front. Dress Up Darling is the other in the production line, but if we suppose Sato will do Frieren S2 before Bocchi S2 then my guess is with Umehara production lines it will be Elusive Samurai S2 → Dress Up Darling S2.

@tripleaamin How did I not know that Blue Exorcist dropped S3 and S4 this year after like a 5 year hiatus? I have always loved this series, criminally underrated and not helped at all by that weirdo shiit they did at the end of the 1st season that was filler. :snoop:
I was actually surprised nobody ever talked about that series. I didn't have the opportunity to watch it back before S3 since I was binging Kingdom, plus with S3 no longer being done by A-1 & the filler stuff that you mentioned, I figured I would read the manga before trying the anime.

Yeah I used to discuss it years back but there was little interest at the time. Personally, I enjoyed the world they created and the premise. It's nothing groundbreaking but it does a damn good job making the shonen staples work for the plot.

I got a notification from Google that S4 was dropping and was like TF? Didn't even realize there was a 3 :damn:

For some reason I assumed there was a wait between cours for TOG, I guess not

Animation quality is clearly better, this arc has a ton of action so I guess they saved budget for it from those earlier episodes

Yeah, to this day, it's one of the absolute weirdest things I have seen a series do.

Most of the older shows had filler arcs but NOTHING like that shoehorned at the end of the season and then the 2nd picks up from the first half like nothing even occurred. Filler arcs are usually side quests that keep you in the frame of the main story, that shiit?

I don't even know. :snoop:

Just saw “Look Back” in theaters man this shyt was beautiful. :mjcry: :wow: This and Atri really hitting me in the feels damn.

Heard great things about the story and god it was as close to a masterpiece of a short and sweet story. I think anime onlies might be surprised that Tatsuki Fujimoto wrote this since given their only exposure to him is CSM.

Fujino initially feeling a rivalry between Kyoumoto, which has her believing she isn't special. But Kyoumoto looked at Fujino as her teacher in some ways. The first time Fujino enters Kyoumoto's house you see the pile of notebooks and compared to the pile Fujino had in her room you can tell there is more. Obviously, Kyoumoto doesn't attend school, which gives her more time to practice.

Kyoumoto acknowledging Fujino was a great scene because just one person acknowledging your work can mean the world to you. This friendship & partnership was really sweet. Fujino blames herself for Kyoumoto's death because she thinks she pushed her to go outside of her room. Which leads to her going to art school & dying sadly. In reality what Kyoumoto was pushing her to continue getting better at manga.

The interview afterward with Kiyotaka Oshiyama was great because you could really tell he respects Fujimoto's work. The question of does this really need animation is interesting. While some works have their best medium. I believe the opportunity to get to see this animated offered great experience for new fans seeing it for the first time. But for those that read the manga they get to experience the same story they loved, but in a different way so it feels fresh.

Easily 10/10.
