Starting watching Beastars through 4 episodes, it's finally starting to come together.
It takes place in a school setting with an Anthropomorphic setting. The big theme in this series Carnivores vs Herbivores. The former being meat eaters while the former being plant eaters. Obviously, being in a school setting these two sides coexisting is a big one. One thing that is clear that Legoshi who despite being a Carnivore he has his own issues. For instance, the smell of his prey will cause him to lose control. Though Legoshi is one who hates himself for it and puts him down. In a way, him being a Carnivore and existing among them is a bigger challenge than coexisting with the Herbivores.
In particular, when Bill is willing to consume Rabbit blood, it triggers Legoshi. As that is obviously prohibited since rabbits attend their school and Legoshi in particular has grown fond of a rabbit named Haru. He and Bill get into a fight and Bill asserts dominance and since they are both Carnivores it empathizes the strongest is on top of their kind. Louis comes to Legoshi's rescue as the top Herbivore in the school. This season is good as it shows Louis has Legoshi's back. In fact, considering previously he mentioned why does Legoshi act weak even though he is a carnivore. Obviously, here Legoshi displayed the true strength that he showcased in the play.
Slow start, but curious if this show dives deeper into this and becomes darker to it. As things like Haru trying to appease Legoshi by offering her body is another example of the superiority that Carnivores have over Herbivores normally.
