That latest episode of The New Gate hit hard for such a show.

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 9.

This chapter adapted the rest of chapter 23 as well as both 24+25. I love how they expanded on the volume extras at the beginning of the episode. At the end of the episode you see all the skills that Taiyo has learned from his new family. At the same time you see how he has affected each of them and how much they care about him. Direction of the anime has been great and animation has been super solid. Silver Slink being the studio still gives me concern.

Overall they adapted the Kuroyuri arc well. Kuroago who thrives on information was a well known spy. Much like in the manga his backstory was executed well. You can empathize as he lost his last family member how he could be corrupted for revenge. Kurogao offers Taiyo a lesson in their encounter. He saw how consumed Kurogao got with revenge. Finding a new home with his new family is the better option.

Now this is the starting point in the series where it starts to find its momentum.

Train to the End of the World Episode 10

Honestly with 2 episodes for Ikebukuro, I got confidence this show can stick the landing. Man meeting up with Shizuru's dad was not what I was expecting. Although he's been away from home for 2 years. He might not be the best dad, but him caring for his daughter and their friends' safety was sweet. But he really should get back to his wife cause 2 weeks turning into 2 years is a big jump.

Shiinabachi was a ride. First Akira suddenly having powers was a major wtf. Her unleashing her inner Chunni was fukking hilarious. But Yoka put powers into those hats and well they lost as soon as the 3 mangakas lost their hats. You know they had a sad backstory. Of course the girls don't have time to waste. They aren't waiting for the flashback to be over.

As we could figure out from last week, Pontaro is our main antagonist. He was mentioned since the earlier part of the season. Let's see what the girls can do to save their princess. This episode represents everything I love about this shows. It's been a great ride.

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy S2 Episode 22

Honestly not surprised Makoto kept his identity hidden from Hibiki. It would have been more interesting if he didn't. Considering how much he hates the goddess he is just keeping his options open. Which is why he isn't going all out against Io. Considering everything with Rona, I think this is silly on his part.

HIbiki very line with her good-natured hero personality, received the power of friendship. It's funny, but it is very in line with her character Shiki will still be around to aid, but considering how powerless Hibiki has felt, it is good for her something went her way.

Been watching petit clova: sword of the wizard king. I remember the good old days of me and @Bryan Danielson hyping up this franchise on the daily while it was running. This movie is restoring the feeling
Its about a previous wizard king that went rogue, whos been plotting this whole time on julius and the clover kingdom. He revived 3 more previous wizard kings for help. Its up to everyone to stop them. These wizard kings are Julius level and their leader is pretty interesting.

Ranger Reject episode 8 much like 7, the pacing issues are so noticeable. So many things are rushed even if you haven't read the manga. The director believes that the early part of this series is too slow. That is true, but it doesn't give an excuse to rush content like this. Even worse if you read the manga because there is important stuff.

Also, that chase scene at the beginning of the episode was so poorly animated. You would have to make an effort not to notice that.

Yea they're not respecting the source material much, if you wanna rush straight to the shyts then pick a manga that was written that way those ones have been crushing the buildings anyway


You think after the success of AOT companies would be more comfortable letting the stories cook but I guess not

You gotta have a bat shyt crazy concept like JoJo's where they can't even begin to think about what they can cut

Seems to me that adaptations are completely dependent on the studio that takes them. You either get incredibly lucky and get a whole new studio created because they want to adapt your manga/novel, get adapted by a studio with enough backing that will take its time with it, or (again) get incredibly lucky by going under the radar, getting as close to a 1 to 1 adaptation as possible and the anime being a hit so it justifies the studio continuing working on it.

But even still, AOT had to change studios because WIT wanted to take its time with it and then Mappa showed up to take it

interesting he worked on CSM/Frieren/Ranking of Kings, different styles of movement but they all popped off consistently with animation

Too much anime get made. You have to have a STRONG backing like you said. You do have series recently like that Frieren, Oshi no Ko, Apothecary Diaries are some recent examples of that. But too many anime just end up being advertisements for their source material. It's a miracle if those even get remotely popular like you mentioned as the last case.

I think each studio wants their AoT, but the problem is finding it. There is like 40-50 anime that comes out each season and consider how many of them are mediocre as hell.

Nowadays it really relies on how big the source material is. CSM & Spy x Family are two recent example of how big manga series and how the hype circulated when they were airing.

Coming up we have/had Kaiju 8, Dandadan, Blue Box, and Sakamoto Days. Now the question is how these anime gets executed. W

Most anime series serves as a commercial to push you to the source material. It’s not envisioned as a stand alone product. Sure the most popular maybe get that respect but most of this stuff is 12 episodes and done.

I highly doubt many of these anime adaptations are profitable on their own beyond all the source material they end up pushing.
