Man I thought personally Dungeon Meshi was a runaway for the best thing this season, but This train show might give Meshi competition. Def something @Jmare007 since there is some Heavenly Delusion vibes here with the adventure and mystery aspects. Though mystery is more straight forward since Heavenly Delusion mystery aspect was insane and Train prioritizes the adventure first and the unhinged chaos is much higher in train.
What's the name of the show :whoo:

And Meshi is fukking awesome. The only nitpick I have is that they haven't figured out the timing for when to go for a comedy bit and when to get serious. I think they are trying to got the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood route but the timing is not quite there yet.

Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?/Train to the End of the World.

IMO Meshi is on the same scale as Frieren and Apothecary Diaries for. World building is fantastic, actions scenes are well done, and the cast is great. Its execution is very similar to Helck slow paced comedy in the first half of S1, but the real story starts in the 2nd half of S2. The big difference is that budget is much, much higher in Meshi and world building is stronger.

But I do see your point of comedy and serious tone balance. As last episode was an example with Laios when the tone was switching between serious and comedic. Piwi from Helck is one of the funniest character I have seen in anime in a good while and Meshi doesn't have a character like that when they are in the picture you know it's going for comedic stuff. Senshi is the closest to a comedic character in Meshi, but I feel it's a disservice to call him that. He honestly might be the best character in the show as he shines in comedic, cooking and tense scenes.

Ranger Reject and Spice & Wolf are the two other shows that really have stood out to me. (You also have Konosuba, but people know at this point people should know if that show is for you or not.)

Ranger has had some outstanding direction and the action scenes so far have been massively elevated from the manga, which felt pretty meh there. My only concern is pacing since it feels like it's trying to cover 6 volumes/~~50 chapters in 13 episodes.

I do think Mission: Yozakura Family is one to keep an eye out for. The start is slow, as the beginning of the manga can feel aimless, but once the manga finds its footing it's great. I'm 130 chapters in the manga, and it keeps getting better and better. Only issue is if the animation holds up since silver link doing the anime I have concerns.

This season been good to me.
New Gate
7th Prince
Appraisal Skill
Gods' Games
Angel Included
Kaiju #8
Level 2 Powers
A Condition Called Love
Bout to start Spice and Wolf.

I've not been impressed with any of these shows. It's so bad I've gone back and watched YuYu Hakusho. :ohlawd: Then I'm gonna rewatch Castlevania with japanese subs. :ohlawd:

Looks like people finna start a dialogue on Disney

While it's nowhere near the disaster when they had SummerTime Render, a lot of times when Disney gets a series it does pretty poorly. They do a poor job of advertising and letting people know that they have said series. There is also the issue outside of NA it's only watchable via pirating even though D+ is available in those places.

Not as bad as Netflix Jail used to be, but still really hurts these series for becoming bigger and getting word out there.

This was such a standout episode with some top tier direction to it. Anime has been great for a low-mid drama SoL revolving the entertainment industry of two upcoming voice actors. Honestly the entertainment industry themes are the stuff that I really liked about the Oshi no Ko manga before it turned into a Pedo incest melodrama.

I really liked how the portrayal of idol fans between Kimura and Shimizu. Honestly before Shimizu showed up it seemed like he genuinely wanted to meet hid idol. Unfortunately Shimizu is the type of idol fan that cares for clout first. Granted there are idol fans that are insane, but still to seek out and fabricate a story of your illusion and then try to ruin her career. He deserves a rotten place in hell.

Poor Yuuhi I am impressed she handled the abuse from Shimizu as long as she did. Tbh she just wanted to tolerate it because I assume she just figured her career would be done. But we have seen how big of a fan she is of Yasumi, and she was not letting her career go down in this too. Yasumi finally saw what Yuuhi thought of their time together on the show. For the first time she was having fun and that being taken away from her from that creep is saddening.

Yasumi decided to everything in her power to stand up for Yuuhi. I have to give her respect for putting her career on the line, but we know how big of a fan she is of Yuuhi. So it was her way of defending her in great contrast.

Now I also give her father a lot of props. He could sit back and let her daughter take the heat. But instead he puts their relationship out there since that could hurt him. But he did everything he could on the livestream to let her fans know she earned that lead role. He is a great father.

Overall this is turning to one of my favorite shows of the seasons. The dynamic between Yasymi and Yuuhi is so well done.

Mysterious Disappearances Episode 4

This was a great SoL themed episode to break up from the recent arc finishing up. It's good that Sensei is back and feeling better, but her horns are still there. Either she will be involved in this story with or without her consent, or she could potentially be from the same place Ren and Oto as for a speculation guess. It's good to see Oto warming up to Sumireko. Lots of wholesome moments between the two when Oto wasn't angry about the differences in their chest sizes.

The one interesting thing is when Ren met up with an old man and the mention that Ren using his power could kill him. His goal of bringing Oto home is a priority, so he will need to be more careful. The area that Ren came to meet the old man is a new neighborhood, which we learn that there will be curiosities as a result. A new place is a blank slate in which a God of sort lives. Some nice world building done here to add more to the supernatural elements.

That's pretty bad. They need to get the OP package Mashle had last season if they really got 6 cours planned for it.

Been watching Hibike! Euphonium S2. As the visually and music is as good as S1. The writing and characterization is much improved. S1 had the petty drama caused by Yuko because she wasn't happy her senpai that she treats like an idol didn't get a solo performance. While how it resolved at the end was good for Karoi and Reina. The actual tension was very eye rolling.

This season an issue that is brought up is when the former 2nd years were trying to take band practice seriously. 3rd year seniors basically gave zero fukks about it. Like with any sport/hobby club some people will get fed up and not want to tolerate it until next year. Thus, Nozomi was one who decided to not deal with it.

The issue becomes Nozomi was the sole Uboe player in the band Mizore's friend. Like any extreme introvert who struggles to make friends, they get extremely attached to their very few friends. For Mizore there was only Nozomi. Mizore joined the band in middle school because of Nozomi and the issue becomes Nozomi didn't want to rope Mizore to quit. But it backfired and caused trauma for Mizore. In a conflicting way her oboe was the only thing that connected her to Nozomi, but the trauma of facing Nozomi of why she quit was too much for her. The worst part of it was that Nozomi didn't have any clue this was happening and was the real issue when she wanted to rejoin the band.

Essentially being forced to be in the band for the sole reason of her connection to Nozomi made her performance very robotic. With that being her only reason for staying in the band you can tell that she lacked passion for it and her comment of hating competition is resolved. When she was able to resolve things with Nozomi and understands what Nozomi admires about her and more specifically her oboe performance. It lits a fire in her and resolve her dilemma. Thus, her passion in her performance comes out and because of that she know loves competition showing her love for both Oboe and performing in the band.
