:heh: there's no way I can give my top 5 episodes.

Moments? Yeah.

Episodes!? :shaq2:

I think the difference is the medium. Like I could prolly give you my favorite episodes of almost ANY TV series I've watched.

But that's because post Buffy/DBZ, you have a Showrunner plotting, and different directors directing and different writers writing different eps. (YES, I DO feel like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and DBZ are the legit parents of modern western media, the same way I feel like RZA is the father of modern music marketing)

Anime is a different kind of beast. You got one studio doing the work of one writer over 13-god knows how many eps. Usually, the only things that change are the budget and/or the studio.. It's hard to pick out an ep out of a series to say is "greater".

At least for me.

Plus with the way these shows stretch certain things..... some events can 'happen' across multiple episodes. Its just hard to measure imo.

I always lean on RahXephon because that show is really, really close to being a whole fukking mess but its got one particularly great episode that makes you forget what a sham it is. Plus the movie makes up for it a bit too.

Usually, when you've got a good show - its always good more or less so a defining ep that elevates the entire product isn't really something you'd key off on.

This might seem weird but now that I'm older I find myself subconciously bumping up the the ages of characters from a lot of shonen shows now. Does anyone else experience this?

It's like I know the official ages but my brain refuses to believe that these 10-15 year olds can look like and be doing all these things at their age so they have to be older than what they are. Maybe it's because now that I'm almost 30 I see how young kids really are at that age whereas when I was a teenager myself it felt perfectly fine

still in awe of how nice the fades and transitions are in Horimiya. You can tell what a character is going through from the direction alone. Like Miyamura's struggles with being ostracized in school, his insecurities about whether he deserves to have friends or not.

Another great episode this week. I feel like I'm watching a mount rushmore esque romance in the making.
