Definitely overrated. First season was cool, especially a couple of the fights, but overall not that interesting.
It makes me glad the opm redraw goes the shounen route

The overpowered apathetic hero schtick just isnt that funny for a whole series
Tower of god came with more hype but it was god of high school that got more people to like it
ToG is story driven and this is America. :mjlol: Slow burn stories dont thrive as well here. This shyt is giving me One Piece deja vu where the dub studios are trying to fast forward through exposition to hurry up to fight arcs and introducing
Chopper for merch.

Part 2 of ToG is what CR was probably banking on. Power scaling starts to resemble DBZ levels and it has the best fights.

GoH what you see is what you got from ep1 onward. They cut out backstory and characterization without missing a beat.

trying to watch A Certain Magical Index

like the concept of Academy City, Espers/Science against Magicians/Fantasy

not a fan of the exposition dumps...I tune out for one second and I feel like I need restart the entire episode to understand what is happening. Reminds you that this is an adaptation of a book that has more time to explain things concisely, not rushed like TV often is.

Still want to finish at least a season, and get to Accelerator who for whatever reason is a very popular anime character.

I was thinking of getting into To Aru as well, but planning to start with Railgun instead of Index. Railgun looks like it'll appeal to me more, plus I heard Index's adaptation was pretty bad

Everything I hear about Railgun sounds better than Index. Wasn't sure if I would understand it without watching Index first, but it's still not making much sense to me so idk what the difference really is.

Even the watch order guides are inconsistent - some say start with railgun, others say index, others say watch parts of both at the same time...

Yeah just trying to figure out the watch order was the main reason I've been putting it off, shyt is even more confusing than Fate. Since enough people say starting on Railgun is ok though that's probably what I'll do and then figure out the rest if I like it

I think MOB is one of those things, where most people expect epic Psychic fights because of the powers involved. But at the core, the story isn't about powers, but rather a young boy understanding about his own emotions and to not suppress them because they can be destructive. Every part of the story is full of people who not just respect Shigeo, but want to look out for him, because he in return has no intentions of world domination but rather making friends.

What easily spoke about this was the Body Improvement Club; Jocks who buck the stereotype, as they don't chastise Shigeo for not matching their skills, but encouraging him to fight on.

I wish I had Pillar Men back in my school days to back me up. :mjcry:
