Starting binging Dororo...I feel worse for the civilians than Hyakkimaru. being senseless is an actual advantage in one of the most violent periods of japanese history. It's predictable how he'll respond to being able to feel what almost everyone else has had to deal with their entire lives

Seems cruel to say he isn't that convincing of a tragic figure but the more I look at him the more I see a guy that has more perks than everyone he comes across. He even has prosthetic limbs that act as sword sheaths, somehow don't restrict his movement and can grip objects as if he's using automail in the 17th century. Would be more interesting if he did have a personality but no means to express it, and the more human parts he recovers the more he realizes that expression in a period of mass cruelty is futile. Him being a blank slate makes his long journey to recover parts while being followed by a spunky kid with plot armor pretty dull to follow.

That's my takeaway from that show too.

He's doing pretty good all things considered... He out there catching bodies, making friends, has an achievable goal in life whereas other people get mopped off the floor just for stopping at the wrong village.

I’d rather follow that doctor with PTSD handing out prosthetic limbs to children or someone else who’s actually struggling to live in the world

I at least figured the fight animation would be great...but it’s weirdly average for a such a hyped show.

its got its moments in animation...

i honestly dropped it midway. if this one of the first shows of its type you've seen, then i guess it would hit - but honestly its kinda weak

there's plenty of cursed/conflicted roaming swordsmen/warrior shows out there and dororo doesn't do much better (or even on par) with many of them

that's probably it for me. Just doesn't hold up to what I've already seen from the genre. Doesn't help that I re-watched Berserk and Samurai X Reflections recently.

Starting Blend S. It's the exact type of show I wouldn't watch but I've seen some clips of characters calling the cops on their manager and I was dying.
