Essential What Anime are you currently watching?

I recently finished Darling in the Franxx..

I almost dropped it 2 episodes in because of the absurd Franxx control mechanism. Why can’t some of these anime/manga creators be normal? They just had to have their sexual innuendo with the kids

But fortunately, this becomes a non issue once you get past the first few episodes. All in all, I thought this was a pretty good show up until episode 20 (?), people who’ve seen it know why. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show that went off the rails and dipped in quality as sharply and as quickly as this did.

I didn’t care much about the mech designs or combat, but I really enjoyed the world building and relationships between the characters. But yeah those last 4-5 episodes... Yikes.
Oh and the OP was flames too

Now I’m finally starting to watch Code Geass after hearing so much about it. I’m already about 10 eps in, It’s pretty good so far.

Franxx is such a hilariously open cash grab to sell teenage love, robots, and ridiculous world ending scenarios all in one bundle that its honestly impressive more than offensive.

They don't call it Cash in the Banxx for nothing

Geass is better in every regard. Should be a fun watch

The way the suits operate made sense in context
Darling in the Franxx should have stuck to it's guns if it was going to only be 1 season. It felt like with all of the shifts in the story's theme (episode 1-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24) each could have been fleshed out into an arc. VRIM and magma energy could have been a whole season themselves. It was just too wtf that they popped out of nowehere and made the stakes go from 0-100 at the last second.

Still a good show IMO but fell from the potential GOAT status that the first 16 or so episodes were showing

The Golden Age Berserk anime is amazing. Must watch stuff imo

The newer 2017 one is hot trash.

The manga is outstanding too. Seriously. But it'll never be finished at this rate so its up to you if you want to pick it up knowing that.

Had to rewatch the latest episode of overlord, it’s amazing how dark this show is. The premise of this show is a familiar one but I don’t think it has been done to this degree. Madhouse gave it three seasons that’s how you know this show is one to fukk with.
