Yeah I think they're written by the same guy. I couldn't get into Katanagatari either because of the absurd amount of dialogue. And to be fair I originally dropped Bake right where you did. The 2-3 episodes that focus on the snail girl are the worst in the series imo. Tried to rewatch it last year and made it past those episodes. The romance was what drew me in after that and then in season 2 the fukkery and entertainment goes up 100%. At that point I was hooked.

I would say if you really want to it give it another shot, try to get to episode 8 and see what you think. First 7 episodes are very monster of week type.

I'll give it a try because I see it on a couple of my streaming services.

Whoa for a minute there I thought they remade that shyt. I assume this ya first time watching it? It's the GOAT anime easily.

Naw its the second time. The first time I checked it out was 6 years ago. I missed so a lot of the details. Now I'm looking back and knowing what builds into what and its just that much more powerful even the alliance's national anthem has levels to it

Recently finished Black Lagoon. Pretty fire. I just love the unapologetic nature of crime in this series. I also like how the main character provides perspective in that fukked up world.

I don't remember how I came across this show but its called "Jigoku Shoujo", its been out for a while. I'm just on the 1st season and its pretty good. A bit dark but still light, so far at least; it has a "Monster" like feel to it. Its basically about people who have problems with other people who've done them wrong (or perceived as having done so from their perspective...) and so they make contact with a spirit/demon (IDK) by way of a website and from there it offers them their vengeance which is damning their target to hell but by doing so they also damn themselves after they die.

shyt is beyond garbage.

On a side note I know the brehs don't like echii but Hajimete no gal is legit a good show that shyt had me doing this last episode. So far this season I'm liking the slice of life/comedy shows more than the shounen. I look forward to Wednesday s and Thursdays for gamer, Hajimete, and high school of the elites.

Apparently, there's an OVA to Black Lagoon that I almost missed out on. Finished that too. Whole thing an a chess game where the winner isn't clear until the last minute. We got to see a bit more character development and they brought back an ol' favorite character. Can't wait to see more from this series but it's apparently on hiatus.

I either watch the anime or read the manga. I don't do in betweens. Just looked that up and you're right. Hopefully, we get something a few years from now once there's enough source material to created another season.
