No...

I don't even know what it means and I don't care.

It must mean when the protagonist acts like a bytch the first half of a series?
Shonen is basically the same power up cycle that is often popularized (and procedural) so its easy to sell issue to issue/episode to episode. Its extremely formulaic, you know you're getting ahead of time - and you know what kind of show that is because you already skip ahead of those parts.

The kid being over emotional about everything is the same as Naruto yelling he wants to be Hokage for 200 episodes, or any other repetitive theme that its easy to push and digest

Since I'm branching out I started watching New Game! one of those K-On type shows. Not my thing normally but I like this show. I'm surprised cause I dropped K-On half way into the first season.

Tried to watch Nana. Couldn't really get into the trashy soap opera storyline or the stick figure huge forehead character designs. Get why its popular now though

it's legit one of the funniest anime I've ever seen, why was it only 6 episodes? Do you know?

The anime cut out some of the worst parts of the manga and focused only on the standalone chapters that introduced a new girl and a different problem for Kintaro to solve. I think they couldn't do more than 6 episodes because it was a OVA that went straight to VHS and probably didn't sell great but it worked out for the best anyway given the animation and longer run time
