The manga ended ages ago so I had no idea the anime was still going. Read the manga and get it over with. They're milking every penny out of it by letting it drag. Naruto should have ended with Pein.

How's Boruto and the novels? It's filler or all canon?
Canon. Boruto takes place after the 3rd ninja war. The novels take place between the end of the Naruto manga & before Boruto starts (with the exception of Itachi's story).
