I'm a broken record in here, but I swear it's because they couldn't use samples on here. This got a few joints. But They've all released better projects than this. I think my biggest gripe is the overall sound of the album. shyt really feels like a raw mixtape, with just basic bare bone production & raw verses. I've heard much better from Daringer also.
Cruiser Weight Coke is my shyt. Conway & Benny was servin. Track would've been better served if WSG was left off or at least went 1st.
Album missing hooks, melodies, and song concepts. Feels like a label album going the cheap route though I guess.
Like, they did their best, but they will always sound better when they can sample, because that's the entire essence of their main signature sounds.
They did a good job faking an album with samples. But it's like the uncanny valley effect. The ears can always tell when it's not the real thing.
Oh well. We will get Hall & Nash 2 produced by Alchemist in 2020, and Benny will be on some joints on that too. So that's probably the closest we'll ever get to a new Griselda group album with samples on it.
