The highs are really high. He picks amazing backdrops when he’s sticking to what made Griselda what is is.
The trap tracks…..it feels like art imitating life, being that he lives in ATL now. It’s not him, and it doesn’t work well with his rhyme style.
If he wanted to try his hand at curating a trap album, he could have signed a few local acts to deals, overseen their projects and and made the leap that way.
I don’t think he’s retired. Maybe taking a break for a bit…..do some other stuff, recharge the batteries, and come back to music later.
