think its in his top 5-6 honestly. a number of the trap joints work, but i do think theres some generic ones. with 21 tracks hes trying to feed both sides and comes up short on some

all in all the guy had a great run, loaded with interesting features and production. i'd take this over 10 and Peace Fly God

Okay so I finally played the album this morning, didn't finish it but made it to track 13, LIL BOON GUNN.

Now a lot of you say you're not feeling the trap beats but IDK maybe it's an age thing (me being in my 20s) because I like most of the songs so far...

My favorites so far from the 13 songs (12 if you exclude the intro) that I've made it through...

Mama PrimeTime
Kostas
Suicide in Selfridges
KITCHEN LIGHTS
FLYGOD 2x
House of Glory
JD Wrist
Disgusting
Chloe

1989, DunnHill, and LIL BOON GUNN are the worst songs on the album IMO so far, although DunnHill has its moments.

I think this might be better than Pray for Paris because I think these songs, especially the great ones, are much more memorable.

I don't think WSG's rapping is bad at all and he sounds okay on the trap songs even tho it's not his style. From what I gather so far, this album may alienate the older fans who love that homage style of boom-bap sound that Gunn, Griselda (Conway and Benny), Roc Marci, 38 Spesh, etc made popular again.

Seems like Gunn is looking to attract a younger fanbase with this record.
Okay, so I finished up the album...

It's like I said previously, this is a pretty good album. Yes, trap is not Gunn's style but some of the songs oddly enough work. His rapping is pretty good, same as always just the beat selection is different (mainstream-ish). Some of the features are hit-and-miss, mainly hits but Denzel Curry for example was sadly a miss because I truly liked the beat.

I prefer this more than Pray for Paris. The great tracks on this album compared to the best on Pray for Paris are much more memorable.

Despite the criticisms of the beat selection, I feel like this has better replay value which is something that Pray for Paris (one of WSG's best) lacks however as I said yesterday...if you're a fan of (which I'm pretty sure we all are) that nostalgic boom-bap soulful sounds that Griselda, Roc Marci, etc made popular again in this current era of Hip-Hop you'll probably prefer its predecessor as this is a little newer in terms of appealing to a younger crowd with its mainstream-ish sound because even the soulful beats on here sound fresher and polished than usual on his albums.

Bolded songs are the standouts.

Overall, I'd give this album a 70/100.

Spun this a few more times and don't hate it. Some of the trap stuff is aite, he over does it overall. This is a messy album no two ways about it but it's definitely a statement lol
