Idris Elba Was Asked if He'd Play Blade and Yes, We Want That - Bloody Disgusting
The Blade you see in the movies is Wesley Snipes. He brought the character to life in a iconic way. When they made the TV-show Michael Jai White auditioned with David Goyer and the producers. Goyer stated Jai White was channeling Snipes Blade too much so they went with Sticky. Stupid move if you asked me. Just shows Snipes brings a lot more to the character then what's written on the pages of the script.
As bad a Blade Tragedy was Snipes as Blade was still the good part of the movie. If wack ass Goyer and Reynolds didn't try to make the movie a teeny bopper mtv comedy, that backfired. Movie had the biggest budget but made less and flopped compared to the first two Blade flicks. Then they try to use Snipes as the fall guy to why it wasn't good, saying things like he's a method actor, difficult work with. Snipes always method acted when he's Blade but it wasn't an issue then, due to the first two flicks being successful.
