When people talk about how great the 90's were their usually talking about the tv show, fashion, movies, simplicity of a time before the internet and just the general pop culture.​

But besides that there was a whole lot wrong with that era especially for black
-Teen pregnancy through Roof
-crime in pretty much every major city much higher than today
-high school graduation rate was awful
-college enrollment for blacks much lower
-higher incarceration rate
-higher % of std rates
And so on...
So was the 90's really that great when you think about it

The main positives of the 90's for black people were black culture, black pride, and economic opportunity for blacks. I'd say its better now because more opportunity is available, crime is down and other things.

I started going to school on my own in 2nd grade
I was 5 years old
I wouldn't trust a 10 year old crossing the street
There's a huge pussification going on now

Babies don't use pacifiers anymore
All you gotta do is hand them a tablet

I love the technology we have now
And if I was in hs with this access my body count would've been thru the roof

But phones have killed a lot of social settings
Parties and clubs and even gone get togethers
Everybody on their phone like there ain't real life people to talk to in front of you

And don't get me started on everybody doing shyt for a like


Some shyt be dope now but I'm happy I grew up in the 90s
