:what:

That line of thinking works for teams with championship pedigree. This core hasn't even made a conference finals appearance.

Yeah. It matters when you get dogwalked in most games vs top contenders in the same maner. 0-10 vs the top three teams including . 15-23 vs teams with a >.500 record or better.
Yea. It’s not fun. But i don’t think it’s the end of the world. This season was never championship or bust. We said that shyt in November. We’re not losing to Detroit. They’re not the fukking KD/Russ/Harden Thunder for fukks sake. There’s an order to this when it comes to young teams. Your first playoff series is a culture shock that you gotta learn from. Only players on the roster with playoff experience are Tim Hardaway Jr, Malik Beasley and Tobias fukking Harris. Give me a break.

Casper Bridges said what needed to be said to ensure Thibs is a goner by the end of the season along with himself by the next trade deadline :youngsabo:
Ideally he either signs a good deal to stay or you build his value up and ship him out.

They can’t trade him this summer cause they got to rebuild his value. Honestly, they need to rebuild everyone’s value.

Sounds so demoralizing when you put it that way.
I am not trying to be, that is just what it is right now, and when you see it for what it is. It’s clear they can’t just run it back AND they can’t do trades unless they are ok with taking a loss.

We seen these situations before and we all know how it’s suppose to go. The FO is loyal to Thibs, but they can do right by him and take the steps needed to fix this. It’s not binary choice between the two.

Also like I said before, once Malone got fired, Thibs really got in the hot seat because at the very least Malone has a better record, and the Knicks job would be a great place for him to land.

They absolutely can run it back. Teams typically need a year to gel. They can and should be better next season.

People not taking things into context. We were missing our best player for a month...

And honestly, a lot of y'all had unrealistic expectations for this team this season :manny:
They wasn’t beating those teams when he was here and when Brunson was out Mikal and OG played better. It’s inaccurate to put the record on Brunson being out.

It’s not an expectation issue, it’s an execution issue. Thibs had them looking great to begin the season. That is evidence the players can play. Teams adapted to that (like they obviously would) and they’ve been inconsistent with their execution since.

I meant run it back with Thibs as the coach.
I think it's possible they run it back and let it gel with Thibs as coach and the same core 6 + bank on the rookies growing into more minutes/do their due dilligence to find better vet alternatives than Payne/Shamet. You would imagine that scenario has to coincide with beating Detroit and looking competent against Boston, but I don't think that's too farfetched.

I also think Leon Rose has proven himself to be very sharp and calculated, and he's seen what we've seen all season.

Knicks should win this series pretty easy. Detroit has nobody to stop KAT.

I think they gonna put Ausar on Brunson though, that’s gonna neutralize him for certain.

If KAT carries yall it’s a win.

Assuming Thibs tells Brunson to stop acting like AI and they run the offense through KAT
