He played 4 games. There's no need to project so far ahead. You've seen how players like Josh Allen progressed after multiple seasons. Just wait and see

Josh Allen always had the talent...he has a big arm, mobility & size...Hurts is mobile but his arm is doo doo and he's short

Leading up to the draft last season, I said I thought the best QB would be Herbert for those very same reasons...I was proven right

Scrambling QBs don't excite me...QBs that excite me are able to make every throw, have a full command of the offense, and can read defenses pre-snap to exploit them post-snap

I saw none of that from him

That's why I'd prefer Fields, bc I actually have witnessed him do that in games

Not sure I like the Owner crowning a player before training camp even starts :lupe:
What if Hurts looks like complete ass early on, what if a top QB prospect falls to 6.....

shyt was a dumb move imo but i get it given the optics of what happened with wentz and wanting to give hurts full confidence. chase better fall to #6 tho :francis:

at first I thought it was dumb but maybe he is letting the league know number 6 is for sale. I know its unpopular to move back but I have a feeling that is why Lurie put that out there. If teams think Philly may draft a QB, then other teams will work with the teams ahead of us to move up....Jeff is saying...NFL GMs...if you wanna move up.....6 is a golden ticket

Right after the Wentz trade the story was "the Eagles aren't handing Hurts the job, will seek competition", now less than a month later "the Eagles are focusing on building around Hurts". It's all posturing and leverage, they want any and all options on the table, including a trade-back like you said.

The truth is somewhere in the middle - they do genuinely like Hurts and believe he can develop into an adequate starter that lands somewhere on the Russ/Dak/Cousins scale of successful day two QBs. That isn't gonna stop them from doing their homework on this years QBs though, they'll do their due diligence on every possibility.

Agreed...they will do their homework and I agree its all posturing, the one thing going in Hurts favor tho...is Lurie doesnt want egg on his face after all this qb drama that he basically cooked up by drafting hurts....to now look like a doof by drafting another qb after drafting "russell wilson" last year.....

Im interested in what they do with the 2nd rd pick....I kinda want an olineman but i also want a corner

Another good breakdown on the WR, quick summery

Raegor: made rookie mistakes but is not a bust

Jjaw: he's improving but is not a an outside WR, ceiling is a slot

Hightower:best route runner on the team, he needs not to fear the safety coming over cause that's where his drops come from

Fulgham: everything JJAW was supposed to be, org messed up by starting Jeffery over him and didn't respond well to it

Quez; was a project in training camp, made leaps and bounds. Slay took him under his wing

so for a receiving squad that was god awful the past two years... every receiver we have, has potential and it’s a matter of time... got it

I just hate how everyone is “negadelphia” during the season, but every offseason the fans have optimism abound, like the trust the front office to fix things

and none are true #1’s

we have no stud wide receivers

the best most consistent we have is Ward

We need a #1 then put ward at #2 and Raegor in the slot

We can rotate in hightower and reserve quez and cut jj

Y'all tripping. There is nothing negative by having Hurts start. If he is good then it was a good decision and if he was bad you know the rest.

This bullshyt about having a top pick for QBs is bullshyt now.

This was dope. Avant seems like a good coach. We still need to draft a receiver though but his point about lack of consistency at WR coach cant be understated

I agree, we still need to get another WR at #6

But it was dope to hear some shyt from the inside on this pod , like fulgham play suffering from Jeffery

Slay taking Quez under his wing and Hightower being the best route runner on the team

Avant said having morehead back will be crucial for the young guys as well
