According to another team source, Staley didn’t much care for the way the organization babied Wentz. Lurie and Roseman both may be concerned that if Staley was the head coach, any chance of straightening out Wentz would go out the window.

“It works against him because he wouldn’t let Carson get away with the things he’s been able to get away with,” the source said. “And Carson knows that. So, if Carson is part of the conversation, then that may not work in Duce’s favor either.”

Why Carson Wentz could be a reason the Eagles are reluctant to make Duce Staley their head coach
This would hold more weight if the top 3 candidates didn't all fall under that same category. Duce isn't gonna baby him, McDaniels had full blown arguments with Brady on the sidelines, and Rivers, who's famously feisty and combative, was in the pro bowl both years Sirianni was his QB coach in San Diego.

Lurie wouldn't have called Wentz an asset and hinted at trading him if he still cared about his feelings, the kid gloves went out the window after that WOAT season.

He got tired of being treated like a stooge

I don't blame him.. He did win a Superbowl and now is losing with players he didn't pick

And can't even choose his own staff

Now the entire roster is shyt they ain't winning anything for at least 2-3 yrs

The front office didn't givafukk about him he was gonna catch all the blame and get none of the credit
Even if they do manage to win the division

They won the Superbowl and the media & fans say it was all Foles & F.Reich

No one loves him here shyt Andy Reid gets more love and most people wanted him outta here

Can someone explain to me since I don't fukk with the NFL anymore. But how the hell did doug win a championship and that cheap hoe Lurie didn't give him like an assistant GM title? I know howie is the GM, but when reid was there they shared the GM role.

I never cared for lurie.

:hhh: WTF did Carson do to get this much power? I don't remember Don-of-them gettin' any pull and we were perennial NFC East champs then
I just don’t see how all this stress for one person is worth it, especially when that person is coming off a season where he got benched. It is absolutely insane that anyone would be considering the feelings of a QB who was one of the three worst players at his position in 2020. It’s even more insane to me that said QB apparently (per reports, anyway) doesn’t want to be coached hard, while coming off a season like the one he just did. Especially when the Eagles could trade him, get his contract off the books in 2022, and have the #6 pick where they could start over with a new QB. Or use it to build around the rookie QB they already have.

Imagine a world where Deshaun Watson gets no say in HC hiring processes but Carson Wentz does. :picard:

That world is the reality we live in :to:

Sirianni could be a pretty good hire. :ehh:

He’s not only been an offensive coordinator, but also a wide receivers coach in KC and a QB coach in San Diego. So he has experience in working with several different parts of the offensive side of the ball. And the failings of the 2020 Eagles offense can be traced almost entirely back to QB and WR anyway, so getting someone here with experience developing those positions makes sense.

He’s been OC of the Colts since 2018. In that time they’ve had two Top 10-12 offenses in 2018 and 2020, one below average year when Andrew Luck retired and they relied on Jacoby Brissett. Even then, they weren’t completely terrible. And that’s without working with a bunch of flashy weapons at receiver.

More than anything, he isn’t Josh McDaniels so that’s a huge point in his favor.

:lupe:

Ideally, McDaniels takes over as HC for New England at some point and fukks over their franchise into even darker territories. Please pick Nick.
