I don't think so... The team is getting younger and the younger players will be excited to play. The only question that I have... Will the veteran players buy into the system. I see 6 or 7 wins this season. NFC East is trash
That’s… optimistic. Based on the way the roster is now (i.e. not yet factoring in draft/FA, since they haven't happened yet), I think the Eagles are currently one of the worst teams in the NFL. Certainly worse than the other three NFC East teams, who can all easily get better.
They have a significant question at quarterback, with Hurts being a below-average passer in terms of his accuracy with a mediocre arm. I know he has his fans here, but it’s true.
The wide receivers are terrible. Reagor, Fulgham, Ward, Hightower, and Watkins easily make for being the worst WR corps in the NFL.
Who really knows with the offensive line? Kelce could be gone, and is well into his 30s. Brooks and Lane are coming off two season-ending injuries, also into their 30s. That could easily fall apart in 2021.
The defensive line is aging, could also regress. Graham is well into his 30s, Barnett is league-average, Curry is gone, Cox is approaching 30, etc. It was a good unit in 2020, could still be in 2021, but could also fall off.
I won’t even waste time talking about the linebackers.
The cornerbacks are bad. Slay is 30, and we have no one else. Maddox sucks, McLeod is coming off another ACL, no other safeties, etc.
None of this even takes into account that the Eagles will need to get rid of people to get under the cap.
This team was
bad last season, and it wasn’t all because of Wentz. Like, three of their four wins barely came against Nick Mullins, Ben DiNucci, and Taysom Hill. This is a team that really should have gone 1-14-1. We have a GM who has proven he can’t draft and no cap space to improve.
