The writing was on the wall ages ago when Chad just wanted to enjoy his best family man life, while Pharrell was going "oooOooOoo" with Snoop and em.

Such a shame because together they were unstoppable.

I really hope this is a friggin April Fools' joke, if not this was eventually going to be the endgame.

Pharrell tried to steal the name for sole ownership.

Same way he did N.E.R.D., both the name and the merch rights. Chad said he couldn't even reach Pharrell anymore to discuss it because he was blocking his calls. Pharrell started putting the merch out without telling Chad, and was taking all the money from it. So Chad had to hire a lawyer to look into why he was being left out of the profits of something he created and co-owned.

Pharrell has been shady for years. He stole from Kelis and his other artists, and you know it's bad if he'll do the same to Chad. Bad bad karma.
