You have barber friends or family or how did you get started? I'm assuming at that age it was before the era of the youtube tutorial.

Me and my boys just copped some wahls back in the day and practiced. Then eventually we just started cutting our own hair. It only takes a couple of months to learn, you just got to have confidence, and not be scared of a fukked up cut every now and then. My clippers I have now are the same ones you see at the barber.

That straight edge line up and shave, takes a steady hand though. But when you learn the proper angle, you can shave your face with the straight razor with no bumps. Its the best for black men, as long as you get that angle correct.

BTW my grandmother was a beautician, so she bought my equipment for me when I was a kid

Edit: this was WAAYYY before youtube. I'm one of the elders on the coli. Not gonna lie, shyt was trial and error at first.

I been doing mine on and off for a couple of years, just started doing it completely on my own in the last 6 months or so. Got a similar set up as you, oster fast feeds, 1 andis outliner, and this Babyliss outliner. Only recently started experimenting with tapers :whoa: the blending can get tricky but like you said it's just about confidence and repetition.

bytch ass barbers are one of the reasons i have dreadlocks today

if i didn't have dreads, i would just rock the baldy otherwise.

both are low maintenance.
