1. He equates dreadlocks with criminal behavior...cause all people with dreads are criminals..... and having a haircut means you're a good person.
2. He alleges that growing dreadlocks will somehow give his nephew criminal traits, and make him a target for the police
3. He assumes that his nephew does not possess any ability to maintain his composure in the face of adversity/ the police
4. He assumes that a haircut, will prevent his nephew from being targeted,profiled, or assumed to be anything negative.
5. He truly believes that doing you best to appease a system that does not value you, is the correct path to take as a black male.

According to this guy Mackie's logic, why don't black people just bleach their skin. If dreads are associated with a type of imagery, you can say being black is associated with a type of imagery too.
