107 guaranteed :patrice:

we all know his potential is that of a 30 mil per year QB... but lord knows one more injury and that contract will be looked at like all the other current terrible QB contracts in the league. I say this as a huge wentz fan who was looking at everybody crazy for talking about foles > wentz :manny:

the skill isnt in question for the $$$, its the durability
Can’t live in your fears. :manny:

Wentz might be injury-prone, or he might have just been unlucky. We won’t know until a few years from now. But if you think he’s your QB of the future, then you have to pay to him. I’m nervous too, but if the Eagles had waited another year and Wentz actually managed to stay healthy and play up to his potential, they’d be paying him more money – Dak and Goff would have already done their deals, and now you’d also be looking at DeShaun Watson, Pat Mahomes, and Mitchell Trubisky signing theirs too. This is a gamble, but it’s a necessary one. And if it pays off, then Wentz is going to look underpaid.

It’s all pretty exciting when you think about it. Carson is the first franchise QB the Eagles have had since Donovan McNabb was traded. Between 2009 and 2016, the they went through Kevin Kolb, Michael Vick, Nick Foles, and Sam Bradford as starting QBs at one point or another.

I hope Howie did his best to front load the shyt out this contract so we have flexibility moving forward. Damn it feels nice to have competency in the front office.

My understanding, the extension kicks in for the 2021 season but some of the money will go towards this years and next years cap to soften the hit down the line

Yea I want to know how that 66 milly at signing affects things cap wise. I just checked overthecap.com to see if they had a breakdown up there.. nothing yet.

I did see that Jernigan is costing 6 milly in dead money.... :deadmanny::bryan:

They gotta release how the signing bonus is distributed but seeing the figures around the $20-30 mil a depending on the year t ain't too bad

Gotta remind yourself this deal doesn't kick in until after NEXT SEASON
