Why do you say that?
Too reasons, employers see that you worked retail and that you didn't advance while you are there, i saw this 1st hand, several guys who worked where i left tried to get better jobs, employers said you only good for stock or being a cashier, 1 guy worked stock for 10 years and makes only 10.75 per hour after all that time, you know how hard is too answer a new employer with that info :wtf: , they think you stupid and lazy. Another reason is that your growth is stunted, if you at the bottom of the latter why would you be exposed to new ideas and tech? You will left in the dust, if you doing retail to pay off a debt or earning extra money fine, but if you are an adult and you over 25 doing that, game over and life over if not management or working in a high end retail store.

I have a MPH, been working in the field for 10+ years and it still difficult for me to get a senior management position.

We're hiring kids with BAs straight out of Harvard and MIT to do Patient Coordination work which generally requires a high school diploma. There's more people overqualified for the positions that are out there which in effect are raising the standards.

People with degrees working in Target, Walmart, and even McDonalds. And I presume things are only going to get worse
breh, you might need to strategize to get senior mgmt level positions...

or "play the game"

have you been play the the PH organization/corporate game?
