I had to fly from Vegas to Birmingham on Spirit because there was a delay on my flight and they were the only flight available when I needed it. It wasn't bad, obviously not Delta or American or one of those, but it wasn't bad at all.

Right now Dc to San Juan no connections

Spirit: $141

JetBlue: $420

If you really want a ‘name brand’ airline, Delta: $580

Y’all out your rabid ass mind
The previous poster explained why in detail.

There's a lot of red tape that comes with that $141.00

I pay more money not to fly Spirit. Not because of being "boujie", but because they are unprofessional and appear to have less regard for safety from what I've experienced on my flights with them.

I flew spirit once ever. and that was only cuz my ex wife booked that bullshyt. these fukkers wanted me to pay to print a boarding pass at the airport. I already knew it was gonna be some ol' bullshyt.

plus out here, spirit doesn't even fly out of midway airport. I hate going to ohare. I can fly southwest for a comparable price, from a more convenient airport and NOT be nickel and dimed on every little thing.

I don’t see how y’all do it. The price point is just too significant to overlook.

One flight is 250 the other is 600. You’d pay an extra 350 just to avoid spirit?
You used a drastic difference to prove your point. Of course people will choose spirit in this scenario. When flight is only $100-200 more I’m choosing the other airline

Ain’t checked a bag in years.

To get a window or aisle seat, check-in as soon as online check in is available
Depending on where you travel and duration, there are times when you will need a checked bag.
I prefer the comfort of picking my seat when I book at no extra charge. I also prefer the extra leg room and bigger seats.

There just isn't enough to convince me to fly Spirit. Plus add in the fact that majority of fights/incidents seem to be from Spirit. Nah I'm good luv, enjoy.

This is not a fact.

Real example of a common flight:

Seattle to vegas
Spirit: 189
Delta: 268

Fees for spirit:
Carry on = $35 during booking, $45 after, $55 at the airport, $65 at the gate
Checked bag = $33, 43, 50, 65
40lb bag = +50 more

Delta:
Carryon and overhead items = free
Checked bag = free in first class or any status, or $30

Seat selection for spirit:

Screen-Shot-2020-09-29-at-1.55.01-PM-600x963.png

Delta : free, whenever

refreshments:
Spirit - coffee $2, soda $3
Delta - free

Or you can bundle it together to get a respectable experience:

“Boost it” is actual standard flying. Still no refreshments but okay

So, for the same human experience you’re paying $189 + 52.99 = $241 IF you do the bundle in advance…if not its significantly more.
Delta = $268

I won’t miss the $20 for an infinitely better experience… You’re getting robbed on spirit

I generally just look for the shortest flight to my destination. The quality of the airline isn't really all that significant for me especially just for a 1 hour or less flight.

Now if i was going overseas and knew i was going to be on the plane for half the day, then i would consider the quality of the airline.

Nah brotha, you got people specially saying they remove sprint and frontier from the results, people saying ‘Never’.

Also that drastic difference is not an anomaly. If you use google flights, spirit and frontier typically come first

Ie a simple Friday-Monday flight BWI to LA no connections, over a month away:

Spirit: $280
United: $500

thats only a $200 difference and bwi to la flight is long enough to make it worth. Spirit charges you to breath on their planes. I’m good off them unless i’m saving $300+
