They'd have to make a mind blowing offer to get Freeman to leave ATL. Probably 350M.

Matt Olson would be a good move, but what do they have to give up to get him? He's not a FA for a few years. I have to imagine the price is high.

They're going to be at about 65-70M in salary per year just on Stanton and Cole. They want to add another 30-35M on another star? I know it's the Yankees but 100M on 3 guys is a lot. They can do it, provided they find value at the other positions.
But they have to figure out what to do with Judge and potentially Gleyber soon.

I think NYY needs to figure out what the hell to do with 2B, 3B and SS.
To me those are glaring weaknesses -- in part because LeMahieu is getting older and because Gleyber and Gio aren't consistent enough hitters and don't get on base enough. Not lately anyway. And defensively, all of them are below average.

In 2009 they had Cano at 2B and he was good defensively. ARod was terrible but his bat more than made up for it.
In the 90s and early 2000s, Jeter wasn't AS BAD defensively and his offense made up for a lot. And all the Yankees 3B were strong defensively (Boggs, Brosius, and for a short while, even Robin Ventura)

Sure, we are in an era where it seems OPS is everything, but it isn't.

The upside of this move is extraordinary.

Meh with all his recent history of injuries,i dont get the move from the Angels perspective unless ur close to winning a WS.

Youre overpaying for 1 year and giving up compensation what sense does that make ?
