For all the talk of the wild card keeping more teams in it, this season isn’t necessarily doing that. There’s an extra playoff spot and the Angels are 7.5 back of that too
There's a general lack of talent in baseball. Both Central divisions are terrible; the AL West is shyt outside of Houston; the AL East isn't really that talented outside of the Yanks; NL East and West have two good teams then meh afterwards.

These teams don't have any quick fix options either.

And doesn't the MLB want to expand?

I love baseball, but I don't want 2 more teams. I don't need 2 extra teams when you got teams like A's and Reds who need new ownership and/or new homes altogether.

They just wanna balance it out so they can have 8 divisions of 4 teams each, but that would lead to something like a division with the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets and Phillies which would be torture.

I never wanna hear anything about expansion as long as they have the issues with Oakland, Cincinnati, Tampa and Miami

Well some of these prospects aren't developing the way they're supposed to. Jo Adell, India this season, everyone in Detroit, Lux, Pache, Hiura, Grisham, etc.

and then the wack teams have crappy minor league systems which makes it worse

Yeah, that's why I said there's a superstar problem in MLB. I bet a lot has to do with how the game is stressed by the analytics departments and the all or nothing approach at the plate plus the shift.

Wander Franco looked legit to me when I watched him last year and now he's hitting like Damion Easley.

Baseball is the one sport where non-Hall of Famers consistently win MVP. Look at the guys since 2000 who won MVP who won't make the Hall:

Jeff Kent
Jason Giambi
Miguel Tejada
Ryan Howard
Justin Morneau
Jimmy Rollins
Dustin Pedroia
Joe Mauer
Josh Hamilton
Ryan Braun
Buster Posey (it wouldn't shock me if he made it eventually)
Andrew McCutchen
Josh Donaldson
Kris Bryant
Christian Yelich
Cody Bellinger
2020 shouldn't count but I'll add Jose Abreu and Freddie Freeman just because.

Joey Votto, Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Altuve have a shot but aren't sure things, imo.

Buncha guys who made 3-6 AS Games but never maintained elite play. That's not good for the game.
