I'd let him get a start next game
Its early, but I sort of wonder if Heard is Pat White but without the play calling to help him.
Ultimately, need a downfield passing attack. Maybe let Swoopes see if he can build a rhythm. Or scrap both and get Locksley ready to roll next year.
If he aint ready so be it.But Heard and Swoopes both need major improvement in the off season.

The LBs are more of the problem when it comes to the running game. DL is doing what it is supposed to do, the LBs are attacking the gaps quick enough. We started the game with Jinkens and Cole at LB, that should tell you why we had issues defending the run in the first half. Also consider it appears the staff wanted to get tape on a bunch of guys last night because I saw a lot of freshman in there early an often.
With the addition of Deshon Elliot arriving this secondary is going to be monstrous in another year or 2.
I think everyone needs to continue to remember Heard is still a RS Freshman. The game hasn't slowed down for him to the point where he trust his arm to just let the ball go on short and intermediate throws. I find it funny that now that the staff has found a package to make Swoopes look good there are people calling for him to start now. Heard is the better talent with a higher ceiling, they just need to continue to develop him.
D'onta Foreman should be the primary back going forward, Gray should be the 3rd down back/back up Foreman. Like what I saw out of Newsome last night, kid needs more playing time.

Most knew that would be the case this season losing Brown.
DL isn't that big of a problem if you look at the tape, its more on the LBs not filling gaps.
